At the end of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Simone Biles, the gymnastics icon, earned herself a sensational position in the sport’s history. By becoming the first-ever American woman to win gold on the vault and four gold medals in gymnastics in the same game, she brought renewed energy and spirit to aspiring gymnasts.

Team U.S.A was lauded by former President Obama and first lady Michelle at the White House. Without a doubt, the first-time Olympians had a great experience. Adding to the moment was the fun time they had with the Obamas. Also, while one cannot forget Simone motivating the former President to try a split, there is something she revealed after a Tweet post went viral.

Simone Biles shared about her rare allergy

Simone’s stardom spread far and wide with news about her across all the media channels. A boomerang video of Team USA and Michelle Obama posing with fruits went viral. In the video, Simone is seen rocking a hand full of bananas.

 

To a comment that read, “Luv watching you rock those bananas to sleep”, Simone’s reply revealed she was allergic to apples. Notably, the picture was an effort to promote the national brand FNV(Fruits ‘n Veggies) which encourages fruit and vegetable consumption and sales through colorful and appealing media.

Simone replied by saying, “had to hahaha bc im allergic to apples.” Studies suggest that proteins in the fruit called the apple allergens can cause allergies in some people.

Undoubtedly, anything Biles did, made headlines. Visiting the White House with so many ‘firsts’ to her name was very special. The adorable pictures clicked with the Obamas made it extra special.

Simone cherishes memories with Michelle Obama

The interaction was brief. However, the former first lady made an enormous impact on the gymnastics G.O.A.T. “I think she’s been such an inspiration,” she said in an interview. Also, Biles treasures the empowering words uttered by Mrs. Obama. She said“When they go low, we go high,” referring to being African American women.

Biles recounted the reinforcing words. She emphasized that representation matters. Furthermore, she appreciated Simone for pushing her boundaries and inspiring young people to take charge of their lives. The gymnastics legend holds Mrs.Obama in high regard. She said, “That’ll always stick with me, especially being an African American. I like that one a lot.
