Simone Biles completed her epic comeback that began a year ago at the 2023 U.S. Classic in August. As the oldest American gymnast to qualify for the Olympics in 72 years, she silenced her critics. After a lackluster showing in Tokyo, the GOAT extended her golden legacy, winning three golds and a silver. Now a 7-time Olympic gold medalist, Biles is once again ready to inspire others.
However, this time, it won’t be through her performance in a competition. Instead, the 27-year-old will take people on a different journey with the much-anticipated second edition of the Gold Over America Tour. While speaking about the upcoming tour, which kicks off on October 16, the gymnastics icon referenced a Miley Cyrus song to describe the energy of the show.
“It’s kind of a celebration, Party in the USA. Very high-energy performance. Very good music and excitement,” Biles told KHOU 11. The gymnastics icon hyped fans by comparing the Gold Over America Tour experience to Miley Cyrus’ iconic song, which has over a billion views on YouTube. However, that wasn’t the only popular reference Simone Biles dropped during the interview.

“Think of Dancing With the Stars but a gymnastics version. We have our Olympians, men, and women, as well as some guest appearances from outside the country,” Biles shared, hinting at special guests who will join the 35 shows across 32 cities. Unfortunately, her teammate Sunisa Lee, who actually performed on DWTS, isn’t part of the tour roster.
The Auburn Tigers star appeared on the 30th edition of DWTS, showing audiences just how well her gymnastics skills translated to dancing. So, the Gold Over America audience will definitely miss Lee’s stage presence. Similarly, Paris Olympics breakout star Stephen Nedoroscik won’t be part of the tour.

Despite winning Team USA’s sole men’s gymnastics medal and earning the ‘Clark Kent of the Pommel Horse’ moniker, the 25-year-old isn’t part of the list. However, Simone Biles is still “really excited” to enact a storyline that inspires everyone who attends the show. Yet, the interview inside WCC also highlighted something concerning.
Simone Biles is still nursing her injury, but it won’t stop her
During the interview, the reporter couldn’t help but notice the large harness around Biles’ lower leg. “I don’t think that’s a fashion accessory,” the reporter joked. For those who didn’t follow the gymnastics action from Paris closely, they may not know that Simone Biles suffered an injury. While warming up for the floor exercise routine, Biles made a rough landing.

It must’ve felt far worse than it looked because she had to take a break. The world champion then proceeded to get her left lower leg taped. Although she powered through the injury to help her team earn gold, it seems the injury hasn’t fully healed yet. Biles’ coach, Cecile Landi, later said that a minor discomfort in her left calf muscle had bothered Biles ahead of the Olympics. Unfortunately, it caught up with the gymnast at the worst possible moment, mid-competition.
Despite the injury, Simone Biles seemed in high spirits. “Rhearsals start in about a week and a half,” said the 11-time Olympic medalist. While she didn’t elaborate further on the injury, it seems the Olympic icon is confident her leg will heal by the time the Gold Over America Tour rehearsals start.
