Once again, Simone Biles hops onto best friend duties! As the UCLA Bruins star spearheads the charge against the CAS, it looks like the 7x Olympic gold medalist is here to rally behind the cause with all guns blazing.
On September 17, in a post on X, the country’s most decorated gymnast of all time once again called for fairness for her WCC buddy. Replying to a fan claiming that the 2024 Paris Olympics officials caused trouble for not only Chiles but also for Biles, the 27-year-old noted that taking a defeat from Rebeca Andrade isn’t much of an issue to her. However, she couldn’t help but reiterate how the fiasco has brought misery to Jordan.
Sharing the original post by Gymnastics Now, the fan seemed to have noticed something staggering. “So not only did they f— up Jordan’s inquiry, but they ALSO failed to submit an inquiry for Simone as requested?!” fumed the user, as she shared the video clip that captures the chaotic to-and-fro exchange between the Olympic officials and Cecile Landi in Paris last month. And yet, Biles had her priorities sorted. With a sonorous voice, she roars: “JUSTICE FOR JORDAN…ya hear me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

However, the incredible realization seemed to make Biles confess that Andrade executed the best floor routine on that fateful night in the French capital. “honestly not a big deal for me, Rebeca had a better floor anyways,” asserted Simone. Still, considering how a different scenario could have brought her another possible gold upon the grandest stage of them all, Biles had to underscore her heartbreak over the newfound piece of information. “upsetting how it wasn’t processed but I’m not mad at the results,” she wrote in her reply.

Only yesterday, it was revealed that Chiles would be leading the battalion in hopes of retaining her individual bronze from the City of Love. Gymnastics Now elaborated that Jordan has arrived with her own team of lawyers who will try to reason with the global gymnastics governing bodies to highlight how the two-time NCAA champ was wronged because of the negligence of the match officials in Paris. But she won’t be left alone in her battle, and the USAG also affirms to extend all support. “USA Gymnastics supports the appeal submitted today by Jordan Chiles at the Swiss Federal Tribunal,” said the country’s apex body in a statement yesterday. But Chiles’ supporters aren’t in short supply.
With some help, Simone Biles can help her BFF to overcome the misfortune
The whole nation has been baffled by how the FIG (International Gymnastics Federation) and the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports) made the waters muddy because of their own errors. While Chiles was directed to hand over her hardware to Romania’s Ana Barbosu, the USAG consistently claimed that Landi’s inquiry was raised within the specified one-minute window, as it also drew attention to how the whole thing ensued only after Chiles was wrongfully scored in the first place. The evidence made it apparent that Team USA followed the protocols to a tee, and present and former stars came forward with their support for Jordan. Retired tennis star Patrick McEnroe slammed the IOC for handling the situation poorly. “It’s the judges that made the mistakes. It’s the IOC that is responsible for those judges,” said tennis icon John McEnroe’s sibling.

Furthermore, US Democrat representative Stephen Cohen also sought to use his resources to reach out to the CAS, urging them to consider its own role in the matter. While the case awaits its final verdict, both Chiles and her BFF have other things to keep their mind off the drama, at least temporarily.
After a gap of three long years, the Gold Over America Tour is making its comeback. Both Chiles and her bestie are expected to hit the road, starting from Oceanside, with a star-studded lineup to bring gymnastics to all corners of the wide nation in hopes of racking in more exposure to their beloved sport. But will the pop-style gymnastics event be enough to help Chiles get her mojo back? Or will the Parisian nightmare continue to impact her skills and confidence? We’ll just have to wait to see!
