Simone Biles' comeback: Is she the greatest gymnast of all time, or is there someone better?

2016—will forever be the iconic year when Simone Biles made it big. Although she was busy racking up Olympic medals in Rio till August, by October, she’d already made her big music video debut! But, how did that happen? Well, Simone Biles’ video from the Rio hotel room of grooving to Jake Miller’s song ‘Overnight’ with her roommate Laurie Hernandez went viral. And it caught the American singer’s notice.

Next, Jake Miller had to text and congratulate her for her five Rio Olympic medal achievements. He did just that, while also informing her of an upcoming music video shoot for Overnight in LA. And guess what? She was down for starring in it. Biles then reached out to the set with her mother, Neille Biles, and shot the song, which blew the internet. And in this process, she also found a buddy in Jake. But amidst all the lovely memories, he recently recalled a daring act by the gymnast because of him that had left her Nellie Biles mother infuriated!

Appearing on the Zach Sang Show, Miller reminisced how his friendship with Simone Biles blossomed. “Simone and I became really close when she was at the 2016 Olympics….” After that, “It just developed into a friendship and when she was on Dancing With The Stars, they put everyone who was on that show in the Palazzo apartment in Hollywood across from the Grove, and that’s where I was living…”

When she moved right next door, he remembered taking Simone Biles to get her Olympic Rings tattoo. But the idea of getting inked did not settle well with Neille, as Jack said, “One night I took her to this place on Melrose where I got this tattoo and I’m like, you want to go get a tattoo? And she’s like, “yeah, I have been wanting to get the Olympic Rings”… And her mom was p***ed. But it was awesome, it was really cool.”

As we know, the circles of success inked on the outer side of her hand are symbolic of her triumph at Rio. She got it back in 2017, while she was just a 20-year-old daredevil, right out of teenage. Thus, probably, her mother did not have the best feeling about it. But it was Jake Miller who captured the first picture of Biles flaunting the freshly-inked art, whose memory of the whole experience was, “It was awesome, it was really cool.”

Clearly, the tide has turned today, for Simone Biles now has multiple inks. A mini butterfly on her hand, a matching 444 with Owens, and an XO tattoo are just some of the many inks she flaunts. There’s also ‘Golden’ and 1997 in the list, as is “And Still I Rise.” But two of her recent additions are not even a month old!

Simone Biles got a ‘micro J’ inked on her ring finger a few days back, while she was in Los Angeles for the Gold Over America Tour. And it marks the special love she shares with her husband, Jonathan Owens, “This was mainly a surprise for my husband and he really loved it,” she confessed while speaking to Young Hollywood. Not just that, she got another one, ‘Made in Heaven’ on the back of her neck, again indicating her bond with Owens.

With multiple such small tattoos, her fascination for the art is easily discernable. But she’s not alone, as Owens has an ‘S’ inked on his ring finger too. “So, when he’s not wearing his ring, playing, I’m still there with him,” she stated. But as we know, she often makes an appearance herself. Like recently at the NFL game between the Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Rams, Simone Biles was present on the sidelines to cheer for the Bears’ safety, Owens.

Donning Blue, Orange, and White, the Bears’ colors, the 11x Olympic medalist looked very much a part of the Bears’ supporting clan. We say ‘clan,’ for many of the G.O.A.T tour gymnasts were in attendance at Soldier Field. Namely, Fred Richard, Jordan Chiles, and Yul Moldauer. All of them watched as they trashed the Rams 24-18. Although, what do you think of Biles’ tattoo incident from Rio? Share your thoughts below!
