Simone Biles needs the least tape to perform her magic

The elite gymnasts Biles and Raisman are completely unlike themselves on social media. Their posts are often hilarious and showcase what star gymnasts do in their daily lives. In an Instagram post made by Raisman in 2016, they are seen holding tapes; Simone with one roll of tape while Aly was holding dozens.

It is followed by the caption “All the tape @simonebiles needs for the Olympics vs all the tape I need. #SheIsNotHuman #ButSeriously #ITapeBothAnkles”. Gymnasts use tapes to prevent skin tears as a result of the impact they make when they hit the ground. Tapes are also used for grip, as pre-wrap tape, wrist guards, and stretch shoulders.

Staying together as friends is a great feeling. Winning together makes it all the more special. When Aly won the all-around silver, Biles said that she was more proud of Aly for getting silver than she was after clinching gold. Simone continued, as she called her one of her role models, and that she took immense pride in sharing the podium with her. “I’m more happy for her than I’m for myself,” she said.
