After getting no invite for the Team USA April Camp this season, Gabby Douglas has been facing continuous failures in qualifying for the Paris Olympics. Though a few chances are starting at the upcoming American Classic on April 25-28 in Katy, TX for this season’s Summer Games, Gabby has lately announced what has led her to decide that she would be continuing her strife for the 2024 Olympics.

The reason behind her unlooked-for optimism is her family member, without whose support she could not imagine making a comeback. Thus sparking a newfound joy for gymnastics, the American artistic gymnast can barely hold back her excitement to reboot for the upcoming Olympic Games.

Losing all momentous hopes after her never-ending setbacks in the past few months, Gabby Douglas started to raise doubts about securing her Olympic berth this season. She revealed to Inside Gym in an Instagram post, “Deep down, I believe I didn’t want to walk away from gymnastics. I told my sister, ‘Hey, what if I start training again and just do Championships and not even do the Olympics?”. Her sister and her motivator, responded with a proactive reply, “Why do that?’ Why not take it all the way?”

The sudden boost that those set of words gave Gabby Douglas, was actually required to buckle up for her priceless opportunity at the Paris Games, which lies a few months from now. Though she has yet to file the petition to appear in the American Classic, her potential inclusion in the events can etch her name to the final USA women’s gymnastics team.

Reboots to the grandiose of Paris Olympics

After having a set of decent historical records in gymnastics, Gabby Douglas can still picture herself in the 2024 Olympic Games, which is just a few months away from now. Her success at the 2012 London Olympics and 2020 Rio Olympics, is the experience she is counting on right now. Back then, she was declared the first African American woman athlete to triumph the Olympic gold in the individual all-around.

Just like she stated to NBC Sports last year ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, “I never wanted to have a hatred for the sport that I love. I don’t want to end it that way.. I always kept in the back of my mind, like, we have to finish on a better note”, she sticks to her belief of giving her best to the sport and thus justifying her comeback.
