As per California News, Simone Biles opened up on her expectations from the 2024 GOAT tour. She remarked, “One, [being] confident and have fun watching the show and I think we do a little bit of storytelling. I know we touched on anxiety and being at a low point in life in 2021, so this is more of a celebration of how you get out of there.” Clearly, the gymnasts are entering the tour with a more relaxed mindset this time and are hoping to celebrate the spirit of the sport. Of course, while having fun!
But, inspiring the budding gymnasts and voicing their narrative is also key. “Obviously, it’s still a story to be told throughout our show. It’s not just high-flying gymnastics. We like a story so the kids can walk away gaining something. I hope they know they’re not alone and we all go through these, even as elite athletes,” Biles continued. It’s not simply about entertainment, but the team wishes to send a message to the spectators, especially the younglings. If the story of the gymnasts can motivate them, they can pat themselves on the back for a job well done!
