Gymnastics fans rejoice! While the blues after the conclusion of Simone Biles’ 3rd Olympics could have been a major blow to the collective mood, the Gold Over America Tour is here to deter its impacts. With 7x Olympic gold medalist Biles at the helm of things, the exciting event aims to bring more exposure to our beloved sport. But the GOAT isn’t the only highlight of the G.O.A.T. 

Along with Biles, a long list of enigmatic and charismatic gymnasts from all over the USA and beyond will kick off their journey from Oceanside, CA for the Athleta tournament. To make sure the event starts on a high note, the Frontwave Arena has a titillating event planned to enthrall the fans with its spectacle. Let’s take a gander at the itinerary to prepare ourselves better for the thriller ahead.

Setting the standards in the newly built stadium

The Frontwave Arena is the first stop of the tournament, which will run all the way to November 2024. On September 16, the stadium opened its doors to fans who flocked to the stands with the hopes of catching Simone Biles in her natural element for the first time since her triumphant Parisian campaign. The occasion also marked the inauguration of the newly built venue, which will also serve as the home ground of the NBA G League team, the San Diego Clippers. 

Naturally, Frontwave Arena’s CEO, Josh Elias, is excited to see how the place can host events of such magnitude. Hosting 7,500 fans, the arena will offer an intimate experience, says Elias. After the Gold Over America Tour moves on from the city, the arena will serve as a concert venue, which is likely to make up about half of the events held there, notes an article by CBS8 from September 16. 

The arena has been under construction for three years and was announced as the home stadium for the Clippers on March 11. Furthermore, it’s claimed that the place is “specially designed to have no bad seats.” As Communications Relations Manager Jonathan Greene aptly puts it, “It’s (the Frontwave Arena) more than a building for sports and entertainment.”

Day 1 of Simone Biles’ G.O.A.T. Tour and the next Oceanside show are coming up!

The opening day was something truly to behold. From high-flying action to graceful artistry: there was something for everyone! The energy was scintillating, and Simone Biles took to Instagram to announce, “FIRST SHOW WAS SUCCESSFUL.” In an interview with NBC 7, Biles stated, “Oh my goodness, I feel like this is the Olympic celebration tour and this is exactly how we do it.” After three long years, the tournament will once again hit the roads to make gymnastics more accessible and help young and aspiring gymnasts find their calling. 

Her jubilation wasn’t misplaced and was shared by the other stars in G.O.A.T.’s roster. Along with Sione, other participants also took to social media to express their excitement. The pilot-inspired leotards were a treat for the eyes, and Arkansas Razorbacks star Joscelyn Roberson shared several images of herself along with her Gold Over America Tour colleagues as the squad oozed oomph. 

The 27-year-old gymnastics phenom came out to the arena to thundering applause from the fans as the PA system listed her long list of achievements. Changing into a golden suit for her explosive entrance, which possibly is a nod toward her golden triumphs in Paris last month, Simone made her entrance as the announcer kept listing the gymnast’s long list of accolades over the PA system. Biles headed straight for the square stage, where she was joined by a group of enigmatic performers. Led by the Olympian, the performers grooved to the background music as the crowd cheered on. 

Biles’ colleagues also dished out stellar shows in their own right, as in another IG story of a fan, one of the male gymnasts could be seen putting up a sensational routine with Taylor Swift’s now-iconic Love Story playing in the background.
