Simone Biles has evolved leaps and bounds from where she was three years ago. Be it mentally, physically, or emotionally. As Biles says, ‘I’m just gaining that confidence, over and over, putting myself back in front of the crowd.’ With the Paris Olympics approaching in just 40 days, Simone Biles is balancing her time both on and off the mats with a renewed mindset. Before that, however, she needs to qualify for the trials starting on June 27th. Despite this, she’s still finding time to relax and unwind, unlike her approach at the Tokyo Olympics. Nevertheless, just before the trials, she surprised everyone with some exciting news.

On 25 June, Simone Biles officially teamed up with the biotech haircare brand K18 as their brand ambassador. This collaboration was revealed in an Instagram post shared by K18 in collaboration with Biles. The reel starts with Simone donning her leotard, and executing vaults. Her voice cuts through the footage, posing a thought-provoking question, “What would you do if there were no limits?” With an empowering tone, she continues, acknowledging the various challenges she encounters, “We face tensions, pressures, and friction that test the strength we build from within.”

However, as she gears up to push these limits, she emphasizes her role as the arbiter of what’s achievable. “When it’s time to challenge these limits, I get to be the judge,” she asserts confidently. The reel unfolds, revealing moments of liberation and self-expression, all while highlighting her partnership with K18. Closing with a shot of her sleek, flowing hair, Simone invites viewers to see the boundless possibilities, urging them to “feel what’s possible” with K18. But why did this brand choose Biles for this?

As Suveen Sahib, Co-Founder and CEO of K18 believes “Simone Biles is synonymous with pushing boundaries and her impact extends far beyond her sport. As our newest brand ambassador, Simone will bring her transformative energy to K18. This collaboration follows after Simone Biles revealed the criticism she faced, including being labeled as the ‘quitter.

From being labeled ‘Quitter’ to writing her ‘own ending’, Simone Biles nailed it

On June 21, 2024, Simone Biles’s Netflix premiered the official trailer for her new documentary series, ‘Simone Biles Rising.’ The series revisits her tumultuous journey during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, marked by her struggle with the ‘twisties’ that forced her to withdraw from the competition.

The documentary explores the harsh response Biles faced following her exit, capturing her sentiments: ‘As soon as you win, [it’s like] ‘God, I hate her’ … everything that happened, it’s a trauma response.‘ She also addresses being labeled ‘Quitter of the Year,’ while emphasizing her prioritization of mental health amidst the challenges.

But Biles returned in 2023 at the US Classic like she never left. This was all possible because she was supported by her community. Now aiming for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. In the trailer, she expressed her determination, ‘I knew it would be a long journey, but, to me, it wasn’t done … I’m going for another Olympic run. Sometimes you have to take that power back … I get to write my own ending.‘ With the Paris Olympics starting on July 26th, Biles is once again seen as a top contender, ready to show her strength on the grand stage, provided she secures her spot through the trials.
