“I do not have to prove anything,” Jordan Chiles said while talking about her Paris Olympic year motivation. The gymnast already has medals from the Olympics and world championships. Furthermore, in the Tokyo Olympics, she posted her heroics after Simone Biles had to bow out from the contest, experiencing the ‘Twisties’. It was a rare chance to appear in the team final despite failing to qualify in both bars and beam routines. However, Jordan Chiles did not disappoint. Riding on her performance, the USA gymnastics team claimed the silver medal in the women’s category. But it left a mark on her. That made her skeptic about her future Olympic participation.

As the gymnast recently added to the Us Weekly, it was the doubt on herself that did the damage. “I felt like if I go back what if I disappoint people if I go back they’re going to think I need to do this that,” she said. But here she is again, pouncing on her opponents to make her path to the Paris Olympics clear and in this ultimatum, Beyonce’s words helped her greatly. The pop singer’s resilience taught her not to give up. “I’m just been living life doing everything that I can stay focused”, she said and her approach is to live day by day. The reason? She knows, “You only have one life to live and we don’t have nine lives”. So this is the time for her to add pages to her fairy tale.

In bringing that to reality, the 23-year-old planned to make her comeback in the Winter Cup this year. But she had to back out as she had “only one life” and she would have to plan everything accordingly, dismissing her shoulder injury scare. Eventually, Jordan Chiles did and the Core Hydration Classic witnessed the former world champion in her full glory. With a score of 55.450, she climbed to the third position, behind Simone Biles and Shilese Jones. Now her next destination will be the Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships later this month.

The former UCLA gymnast will try to secure her US Olympic trial ticket from that arena. But here as well, Jordan Chiles is looking to take one step at a time. Mostly, when there’s a crowd of Olympic all-around champions and world champions waiting to get a berth into the nation’s best team, a competition is the first thing to be expected. So what should be her motivation to head to a larger fight?

Jordan Chiles remains steadfast about her goal for the Paris Olympics

In the Tokyo Olympics, many considered Jordan Chiles the underdog, a replacement for Simone Biles. But Jordan proved her mettle there, helping the team to thwart challenges, and she did so without having any experience of World Cup participation! She wants to repeat the statement now.

This time, the gymnast has laurels and titles to back her up. Furthermore, last year, Jordan Chiles remained the flag bearer of the US team in the Pan-American Games. So the confidence is on her side as well. Now, the former NCAA all-around medalist can ride on her dreams and become an inspiration to others. Talking about that dream and motivation, Jordan Chiles has one or two things to add. “Always believe in the power of your dreams. Your dreams are very powerful,” she asserted.

After Tokyo, Paris is going to be her next peak to climb. And Jordan is going to come, all guns blazing. “I’m going to do everything I can to make it to Paris … I’m that girl,” she roared, expressing her thirst. Moreover, Jordan Chiles does not want to leave any stone unturned in the Paris Olympics in her competition. Ultimately, she has “only one life” and she will have to ride the top podium.
