Gabby Douglas seems chirpier than ever. After six long years, the Olympic gold medalist has hinted that she will return to the court at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 27-year-old artistic gymnast was also recently seen at Team USA’s training. However, not everything she touches turns to gold. In a recent Instagram post, Douglas shut down a fan swiftly after they attempted to troll the Olympics legend and three-time gold winner.
To this day, many haven’t forgotten the budding talent who did her happy dance after her pivotal performance ahead of the 2012 London Olympics. So much so, that Douglas has to face sneers from fans even now, eleven years after her groovy celebration.

While Gabby shares her bold sensational new look as she starts training for next year’s Olympics again, her famous moves from her appearance as part of the USA team remain a fond memory among her fans. After her performance, a reporter had reminded Douglas she promised to do a “happy dance” if she made it to the USA national team. In response, Douglas said “I can do the dougie for you“, and proceeded to move her body to underline her elevated mood.
Those moves have come back to haunt Gabby as a fan seems to have recreated his own version of the famous move. In an Instagram story shared by Douglas, a fan can be seen to have written “I’m like gabby douglas i cant pookie“. The Olympian didn’t waste too much energy on the attack and quickly shut down the audacious behavior.
In response, Douglas only wrote “oh“. She looked determined not to entertain trolls ahead of her journey back to her A-game. Her dougie dance remains something she looks to be ready to defend and won’t tolerate it being slandered.

Douglas is also a name that has shaken up the road to Paris. With Gabby looking to get her mojo back, Simone Biles’ place in the team doesn’t look as secure as many had previously thought. However, Biles has mentioned that she’s not competing against the Rio de Janeiro gold-winner, instead is more concerned about upping her skills.
