During Women’s Day 1 at the US Olympic Gymnastics Trials, Simone blew everyone away with her incredible routines across all the apparatuses. After her fourth and final rotation on Night 1, Scott Bregman summed up her performance in a post on X: “58.900 for Biles”—her all-around score that day. He even added, “This is – L O L – her lowest total across Classics and both days of nationals.”

At the Core Hydration Classic, Simone Biles scored 59.500 in the All-Around. During the 2024 U.S. Championships, she achieved 60.450 on Night One and 59.300 on Night Two, totaling 119.750 overall. Yet, despite achieving her “lowest total,” Simone Biles emerged victorious on Day 1 of the women’s competition at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials.
It was also intriguing to see that the top women leading the scoreboard at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials were none other than Simone Biles’ teammates from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics: Jordan Chiles with 56.400, Sunisa Lee with 56.025, and Jade Carey with 55.825. First Rotation: Uneven Bars: Simone Biles began her competition with a strong showing on the uneven bars. Her routine featured high-difficulty skills such as a Maloney to Tkachev to Pak sequence, showcasing her precise technique and execution. Despite a few minor execution deductions, she managed to impress the judges and received a score of 14.425.
Second Rotation: Balance Beam: Moving to the balance beam, Simone Biles faced challenges but demonstrated her resilience. Her routine included intricate elements like a front aerial, to a split jump, to a straddle jump series and a triple wolf turn. She navigated through minor wobbles with grace, maintaining her focus throughout. Despite showing a clear upset in herself at the Target Center, Simone scored 13.650 for her beam routine.

Third Rotation: Floor Exercise: Simone continued her competition on the floor exercise, a discipline where she excels with her explosive power and artistic flair. Her routine featured highlights such as a triple double and a front layout full-through to a double double sequence. Despite minor adjustments to her landings, Simone delivered a commanding performance and earned a score of 14.850.
Fourth Rotation: Vault: Simone Biles concluded her competition on her forte, the vault. Her first vault was a Yurchenko double pike, executed with precision despite a slight lunge back on the landing, earning her a score of 15.975 with a standing ovation from the audience. Her second vault, a Cheng, was performed with great form and control, and although she had a slight step out of bounds, she still achieved a high score.
