If there’s one thing that Paul Skenes loves other than baseball, it’s pampering his gymnast girlfriend Olivia Dunne. Both these stars are known for going out of their way to bring a smile to the other, and it looks like the Pittsburgh pitcher has found another way. The LSU Tigers queen received a unique gift from her boyfriend recently, but fans aren’t sure of what to make of it.
Dunne’s dog Roux holds a special place in her heart. From accompanying the reigning NCAA champ to relaxing day outings to just making her day with his adorable presence, Roux can do it all. Now, Skenes chose the adorable four-legged furry as the centerpiece of his latest surprise, but the community isn’t entirely on board with the idea.
Popular trading card maker Topps took to Instagram on October 3 to share how they were part of Skenes’ effort to make Dunne beam. “Skenes gifted his girlfriend Livvy Dunne an official Topps card of their dog, Roux,” reads the caption of the post, as the accompanying image shares more details of the Roux card. the memorabilia was a gift for Dunne on her birthday, and she shared snapshots of the card on her Snapchat account as well.

“Elite gift. Lol,” wrote Olivia Dunne in her social media update, as she gave away the details of the card. The Roux card contains the adorable dog’s favorite things, including its love for sticks and steaks. The Topps card also notes the special occasion of Dunne’s birthday in the front of it.

But fans can’t hide their imperviousness. Kevin isn’t amused by the gift and instead believes it’s not even anything unique to get so much attention on social media. “do people not realize anyone can do this on the site?” commented the fan, evidently with an eye out for more pressing news. Soon, more fans joined in on the debate.

Shannon, on the other hand, thinks the card is only an exhibition of the love between Dunne and Skenes and seems to enjoy the public display of affection more than others. “Awesome!!!” the fan commented. The Pirates star rarely passes on an opportunity to make his beau’s day, and the Topps card is the latest in a long line of gifts to highlight how special a place she holds in Skenes’ heart, and this fan couldn’t be happier looking at the delightful gift.
But Tim believes. Paul needs to come up with his own ideas, instead of going around the internet and taking notes from others. “Paul stop copying me bro I did this like a month ago,” frowns this fan. Albeit funny, we do believe Skenes isn’t in short supply when it comes to ideas on how to make Livvy feel special.

But Nick seems to be frustrated about how the post isn’t sharing more details about the ongoing MLB playoffs and is instead choosing to go ga-ga over a lover’s gift to his bae. “Who cares,” reads the irked comment of the community member, who would rather learn more about the baseball postseason. Nick’s unbothered state of mind is reflected by David as well, who wrote “We don’t care.”
Dan is also somewhat frustrated with the card. But not over the point of it, but rather about why doesn’t it have the important details about Roux. “How many pees per walk? Sticks chewed? These are stats the people need,” this Dunne/Skenes fan wants to know, and frankly, now we do too! Don’t you? Tell us what other stats would have liked to see on the one-of-a-kind Topps card in the comments!
