LSU’s coach stresses rest on the way to the Regionals

LSU will be the top seed in Fayetteville’s Arkansas Regional. In round 2, they will compete with No. 15 Minnesota, Oregon State, and the winner of Boise State-BYU. Their last outing was plagued with injuries. And lack of rest might have been one factor in that. They will surely try not to repeat the same this year. Coach Jay Clark has also stressed the importance of rest lately.

“I think the rested teams do better in April,” Clark said. “I think teams with fresh legs generally do better. If you looked at us last year with everything we went through and we got to the finals, you could tell by the time we got into the finals, we looked tired,” he said recently, referring to last year’s debacle. Continuing his statement he also said, “We were at the end of the line; we were emptying the tank”. With a focus on managing rest and other crucial factors, LSU Tigers are poised to be the favorites for victory in the Arkansas Regional, securing their spot in Fort Worth.
