Is Olivia Dunne's off-mat life overshadowing her gymnastics career as she enters her final season?

“Winning the national championships was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as an individual competitor,” LSU standout Olivia Dunne shared earlier this year. Dunne is heading back to Baton Rouge for her fifth and final season, aiming to help the Tigers defend their title after they clinched the program’s first NCAA gymnastics crown in April. Even though Dunne didn’t get to perform in the finals, she still dazzled the crowd earlier in the season with eight stunning floor routines, hitting her personal best score of 9.9—twice! But it’s not just about her own routines and tumbles; Dunne is also about supporting those she loves too.

The highest-valued female college athlete Livvy is a cheerleader beyond the mat, especially for her boyfriend, Paul Skenes. She’s been a constant source of energy in the stands, hyping him up as he made waves during his debut season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. And just before she gets back to the mat with the Lady Tigers for her final season, the two took a well-deserved break, squeezing in a little vacation time together.

Olivia Dunne hopped on Instagram on October 20 to treat her followers to a sun-soaked montage of her getaway with boyfriend Paul Skenes in Jupiter, Florida. Captioned simply, “No complaints💆🏼‍♀️,” the post was a whole vibe. The montage kicked off with Dunne basking in the Florida sun, lounging on a patio. Then came a jet-setting shot of her posing by what seemed like a private jet—fancy, right? The next pic got even cozier, showing Dunne wrapped up in Skenes’ arms, her hands clasped around his neck as they posed right in front of that same jet, giving off all the insider scoop on their luxurious escape. But that’s not all!

Livvy made sure to sprinkle in more glimpses of their getaway, including some foodie shots, beach moments, and, of course, the classic beach stretch pose. The final shot? It’s Dunne, stretching out in the sand, with Skenes’ shadow in the background. It seems like Paul’s taken on the role of photographer for their beachside adventures!

The fans went wild for Olivia Dunne’s post, and one comment stood out—LSU teammate Ashley Cowan, who wrote, “So beautiful.” Ashley, who shined in her first season with the Tigers, impressed in the bars lineup, competing six times and earning a career-high 9.900 against West Virginia. She also made her postseason debut, scoring 9.875 and 9.825 at the NCAA Championship Semifinals and Finals. With an average of 9.846 on bars, Ashley’s already proving she’s a star on the rise! And this was just the beginning of the comments she received!

Olivia Dunne sends fans into a frenzy

As Olivia Dunne gears up for her final season at LSU with the Lady Tigers, her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, is out there making waves as a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates in MLB. Skenes, who previously dominated the college baseball scene with the LSU Tigers, is now showing his skills on the big stage. This dynamic duo might be repping different teams—Dunne with her Tigers spirit and Skenes in Pittsburg’s black and gold—but they’re both bringing their A-game. And fans are all for it! One even captured the vibe perfectly, saying, “Go Tigers and Pittsburgh 🔥.”

Another fan said it best: “Best Gymnast ever 🙌,” and it’s hard to argue! This fifth-year senior is on fire! She earned All-America honors on the uneven bars with an average score of 9.844, hitting a stunning 9.90 at the NCAA Championships. This year, she competed in nine meets, posting a career-high 9.900 on floor exercise at the Podium Challenge. Plus, she snagged the Coaches Award for always being ready to step up. Talk about a superstar!

As Dunne dazzles at LSU, Skenes is not one to be outshined! Pittsburgh Pirates’ ace is making waves, earning accolades for his standout rookie season. Just last month, Baseball America crowned him their 2024 Rookie of the Year, a huge nod that puts him ahead of players from both the National and American Leagues, and fans are all about it, with one commenting, “Rookie of the year Paul Skenes 💪🏼.” And now while Olivia and Paul are out enjoying their chill time, Skenes is busy snapping epic pics of her. Olivia’s sister, Julz Dunne couldn’t help but jump in the comments, saying, “@paulskenes 10/10 photography skills!”
