The 21-year-old LSU heartthrob posted a video on TikTok recently shedding on her career. In the clip, Dunne can be spotted wearing her gymnastic gear. However, the choice of song and the expression on her face looked utterly somber. Reflecting on her future, the caption to the video read, “When the sport that I’ve done for 18 years will come to an end in less than 2 months”.
Such an update came as a bomb for her fans and the entire gymnast world. Dunne, who bagged a NIL deal of $500,000, has been absolutely crushing it. The young gymnast clinched the silver medal at the 2018 Pacific Rim Championships. She further went on to grab a couple of team gold medals at the Pan Ams in 2018 and the 2019 Jesolo trophy.
Commencing her training as early as 3 years old, Dunne holds the record of being the youngest USA International Elite gymnast when she was just 11 years of age. Thus, it is quite expected that when a talent of such a high caliber speaks about retiring, the community would not be very much pleased about it. However, this is not the first time Olivia Dunne has hinted at hanging up her gymnastics boots.
