Did the Paris Olympics medal controversy unfairly tarnish Jordan Chiles' hard-earned reputation?

The Paris Olympics stirred up mixed fortunes—some athletes soared, while others faced setbacks. Among those who got caught in the whirlwind was Jordan Chiles, whose medal was famously revoked, sparking a storm of controversy. But Jordan didn’t let it shake her. Despite lingering debates, she’s making waves in the NCAA and cashing in on some impressive Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals. Standing tall as a standout gymnast at UCLA, she’s leading the charge for female athletes in the NIL game, sealing seven major deals and helping boost her school’s women’s sports earnings to a solid $3.2 million. However, the competition in the NIL landscape is fierce, and Olivia Dunne—LSU’s gymnastics queen and social media sensation—has officially surpassed Jordan in earnings.

With a staggering $9.5 million under her belt, Livvy now reigns supreme at the top of the female NIL charts, while Jordan’s NIL value sits at $318,000. While Livvy’s NIL success has propelled LSU’s women’s sports income to an impressive $10.2 million, just shy of the men’s programs at $12 million, Jordan has been a trailblazer for UCLA, helping the women’s programs inch closer to the men’s earnings of $3.4 million. Despite this competitive edge, the camaraderie between these two gymnasts is undeniable. Livvy totally had Jordan’s back, diving right into the chatter about the whole medal mess!

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, LSU’s Olivia Dunne got real about witnessing the drama firsthand during the Paris Olympics, where her close friend and former elite teammate Jordan Chiles went through a medal controversy that left everyone talking. Olivia called it “a tricky situation,” admitting she had “never seen anything like that in gymnastics history” and wondered if the scoring was made “close on purpose.”

Dunne, who’s known Jordan Chiles since their days in elite gymnastics, shared how heartbreaking it was to see her friend go through such an ordeal. Olivia didn’t hold back on how much it hurt to watch Jordan’s hard-earned medal be stripped away. She sympathized with how “you obviously work so hard to get to the Olympics, and to have a medal there, and then taken away so easily” – it was crushing, she explained.

Reflecting on the way it all dragged on long after the Games ended, Olivia expressed her frustration, hoping “my girl Jordan is OK.” The whole situation, Dunne said, just felt “super tricky” and made her feel deeply for everyone who had to deal with it. For Olivia, it was a reminder of how tough the sport can be, even for the most seasoned athletes. And while Olivia was there soaking up all the drama, what other experiences did she have? How was her little Parisian adventure as an audience member?

Olivia Dunne’s Parisian adventure

Beyond the Jordan Chiles drama, Olivia Dunne was right there, cheering for Team USA, including watching Simone Biles shine in her event and as Olivia says, “Simone has always been a GOAT (greatest of all time).” Olivia also witnessed the women’s gymnastics team snag the gold medal, dominating all four apparatuses—vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor. And as if that wasn’t enough, Livvy was also in the stands cheering for the beach volleyball duo of Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss, both LSU alumni, as they took down the Canadian team of Heather Bansley and Sophie Burkovec.

But that’s not all! Olivia Dunne also embraced her inner tourist, snapping a pic in front of the Eiffel Tower, rocking a cozy white sweater adorned with an embroidered American flag. She even captured the iconic monument lit up against the Parisian night sky, captioning it with a playful “Pardon my French.” Plus, she gave her followers a taste of French cuisine, sharing a delightful seafood dish and another charming shot of herself lounging in a Parisian café with a cup of coffee in hand.

Although Livvy was enjoying all the Olympic vibes from the sidelines rather than competing, some fans were left scratching their heads about her absence. With a wink, she replied to her sister Julz’s comment, quipping, “stubbed my toe😔.” Now, as she gears up for her fifth and final season at LSU, the NCAA season promises to be an incredible ride filled with Olivia’s NIL fame and plenty of excitement!
