Olivia Dunne and LSU Tigers coach Jay Clark share a motivating relationship between them. The LSU Senior is already on the brink of her gymnastics retirement in the purple leotard. So, instead of including her in the regular squad thoroughly, the Tigers’ coach decided to use Olivia Dunne’s prowess in a measured manner this season. That reason worked behind Livvy’s unregulated presence on the mat this time. However, the 21-year-old gymnast never expressed her discrepancies in this decision.

In the NCAA Gymnastics Regionals semifinal as well, Livvy made a late entry into the floor exercise. In the end, her anchoring role earned the Baton Rouge team the needed victory that evening. That time as well, Olivia Dunne was unfazed. However, after the Saturday night game, the former national champion gymnast pointed to an error in Jay Clark’s action plan.

Olivia Dunne’s LSU decimated the rivals Arkansas, Minnesota, and Kentucky in the NCAA Regional final. In earning the 14th title to Baton Rouge, the LSU Tigers put up another 195+ score. Naturally, such an achievement churned out the celebrating side of the gymnasts after the game. In that line, Olivia and Savannah Schoenherr shared the maximum visuals. In one such, Livvy shared a YouTube short, captioning, “When coach makes the mistake of recruiting us to the same team”. Livvy appeared to be referring to how over-hyped a situation can be when the girls in purple leotards are together!

The merrier scene showcased Olivia Dunne grooving with Savannah Schoenherr in a tune of dance music. The locker room celebration took everyone awestruck as both Livvy and Savannah’s moves proved nothing less compared to each other. However, on the mat, things were different for both the gymnasts.

Olivia Dunne misses again, coach hails the overall effort

Unlike the previous day in Fayetteville, on Saturday, Olivia Dunne couldn’t make it to the playing squad. However, Savannah Schoenherr contributed resolutely to the beam exercise with a score of 9.825. In the game, it was the second-best performance after Sierra Ballard in the mentioned routine. Throughout the game, Olivia incorporated her supportive skills to keep the squad motivated. At the end, coach Jay Clark mentioned this part in his post-match conversation.

Acknowledging the success juice from last evening, the battle-hardened coach revealed, “I’m proud of the girls. They had a consistent and steady mindset from start to finish.” Such a mindset helped the squad to stay determined in front of the multi-pronged attack, away from home conditions. So, the champion ladies seemed to have the most expected extra joy in celebrating the victory.
