Simone Biles is back and making gymnastics headlines once more in 2023. Biles’ triumph started with the 2023 Core Hydration Classic in Chicago, Illinois, where she clinched the all-around title. This competition marked her first appearance since the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

The highlight so far this year was her historic eighth national all-around title at the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, where she scored an impressive 118.450. This feat also made her the oldest woman to win the all-around title since 1984. Recently, she also gave us a glimpse of her aspirations for the Paris Olympics in 2024. Following this glimpse, however, the queen of gymnastics has spilt the beans on another dream.

USA Gymnastics recently released an engaging Instagram reel captioned “working hard & dreaming big.” The video featured all the rising stars in USA Gymnastics in 2023 who were asked one question, “What do you want to be when you grow up? “ As the video started, Jordan Chiles, made an appearance dressed in an all-black tracksuit with stylish black sunglasses. Next came Skye Blakely, sharing her ambition to become a future Olympian. The surprise came from Yul Moldauer, who whispered, “When I grow up, I want to be an F1 Driver.” Leanne Wong aspired to be a doctor, while Nate Roman shared his dream to be a kinesiologist. Gabrielle Hardie said physical therapist and Ty Roderiques said, Olympic gymnast. Amelia Disidore envisioned herself as an entrepreneur. Joscelyn Roberson, humorously declared her ambition to be “Spiderman.” The video then looped back to Jordan Chiles, and there, alongside her, was the iconic Simone Biles.

Clad in matching attire of a black tracksuit and stylish sunglasses as Chiles, Biles exuded charm and sass. She playfully chimed in with lyrics that resonate with dreamers of all ages: “When I grow up, I want to be famous, I want to be a star, I want to be in movies.” Jordan Chiles concurred with a simple, “What she said.” This reel come just as Biles opened up about her Olympic plans.

Her 2024 Olympic Plans

As Biles forges ahead on her gymnastics journey, her recent interview on the Today show shed light on the challenges she faced during her hiatus due to the “twisties.” Biles didn’t shy away from discussing her plans for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. In a recent interview, she expressed her desire to participate, stating, “Right now, I would say that’s the path I would love to go.” She emphasized the importance of trust, in her coach, her teammates, and most importantly, in herself.

Looking ahead, the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, scheduled for September 30 to October 8, 2023, in Antwerp, Belgium, will play a pivotal role. The event serves as a qualification opportunity for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, setting the stage for Biles’ potential return to the Olympic spotlight.  As we follow Simone Biles on her remarkable journey, one can’t help but wonder about her unlikely dream shared in the Instagram reel.
