Now that the Olympics is over, it’s back to the office for Chicago Bears football safety Jonathan Owens. The former Green Bay Packers star was granted a leave by the Bears to fly to Paris and cheer for his Olympian wife Simone Biles. With the 33rd Olympic Games serving as a redemption tour for the national gymnastics icon, her husband, Jonathan Owens, was also able to share in her triumphs in the City of Love. However, now that he’s back, the question remains: will Jonathan have anything to show for his extended exposure to athletics in Paris?

At the Xfinity US Championships earlier this month, fans couldn’t help but notice Owens taking notes while Simone Biles delivered one stellar performance after another in Fort Worth, Texas. Now, after witnessing Team USA’s top gymnasts secure a haul of medals at the Paris Olympics, fans are beginning to wonder if Owens might channel some of that acrobatic energy into his NFL career. They believe they might be in for a treat.

Simone Biles could get a special tribute from her beau

The official NFL account took to Instagram hours ago to appeal to Owens to bring out a special trick from the hat for the fans this season. The Super Bowl date was revealed just days ago (February 9, 2025) and the Bears have a long road ahead. Naturally, a lot relies on Jonathan for his first big challenge as a Chicago star, and the NFL needs him to arrive with all guns blazing. “@jowens needs to do a celebration flip this season in honor of @simonebiles,” wrote the post, nodding its hat toward Biles’ three gold medal-winning run at the French capital.

An accompanying video shows Owens describing all the luxuries Paris had to offer during his time there. Talking about how crapes and fruits were in abundance in France, the football star admits that it was some of the best food he’s had in his life. Chatting with Josh Blackwell and Elijah Hicks, Jonathan ponders if he should do anything special to celebrate major moments in the upcoming season.

Suggesting his mate should do a flip when he gets a pick, Hicks enquires how hard can that be to execute. Owens, who had his own misconception about the difficulty of gymnastics broken by Simone after they started dating, didn’t really seem to be excited by the proposal, but the fans have a few thoughts of their own.

The gymnastics community gets its head-scratching

One fan-run page thinks Owens should take a page out of Simone’s book and look for something truly explosive as the right way to pay homage to his wifey. “Simone has a signature ending move for her floor routine. It would be dope if somebody did it,” reads the comment of the fan that seems to indicate that Jonathan should go big or go home.

Both Jonathan and Biles are frequently spotted at each other’s major events, always voicing their support vehemently. In the Netflix docu-series Simone Biles: RISING, the gymnast also admitted that her beloved was one of her biggest support systems during her journey to bouncing back from the mental ordeal she faced at the Tokyo Olympics. Referring to the couple’s unwavering love for each other, Bailey seems all mushy thinking how Owens never leaves his wife hanging. “Simone has a signature ending move for her floor routine. It would be dope if somebody did it,” said this fan commending the football safety’s adoration for Biles.

Terica also wants to see more of the love the two athletes have for each other and wrote, “This is the relationship coverage we wanna see,” in the comments of the IG post.

Another fan also thinks Jonathan should try to give gymnastics fans something to love him more. For Simone’s fans all over the country, the sight of the NFL celebrity in the stands and soaking in Simone’s aura at gymnastics tournaments has become a common thing these days. Holly thinks the time has finally come for Owens to show what he’s learned, and commented, “I would love to see him with her finish pose.”
