For Jonathan Owens, life feels pretty great right now. Scoring his first touchdown against the New York Giants just days ago, the NFL star looks to be settling into his new shoes well. And yet, for the Chicago Bears’ safety, the highlight of his summer was definitely getting to watch his wife Simone Biles bring out her A-game at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Naturally, Owens feels his new squad deserves to be lauded for allowing him the chance to witness Biles in all her glory in the City of Love.

Owens appeared for an interview with Kevin Byard recently, where he talked about how his first season with the Chicago powerhouse is going so far. During the conversation, the topic of being able to take leave from his duties to cheer for his wife at the Paris Olympics also came up, and Biles’ husband grinned broadly as he revealed how he managed to get the green signal. In the YouTube upload from September 10, Owens noted that from the very first day with the Bears, he was trying to make sure he could be in the stands for his wife.

“You know you got to lock in first, you know. I mean, meet everybody; you know what I’m saying,” said Owens, claiming that’s when he started trying to ensure his flight to Paris. “So you know we meet everybody man, and I told my agent and I was just kind of ‘Put it in people’s ears’. So you know you walk around with people in the building and like, ‘You know the Olympics in the summer, right?’” said the football star with a sly smile on his face.

“They basically asked me what days I wanted to miss and I said ‘The 29 or the third’. I said these are the two finals that I want to be able to check out and they ended up like, ‘Both dates are fine, just so you don’t feel like you have to be rushed to get back in.’” Owens elaborated on how the Bears were also cooperative with his request. Noting how he felt the love pouring over, Owens said further, “I thought about it like you said it’s once in a lifetime, man so you know went to practice and camp for the first week, and then you know I got the five days off so it was incredible, man.” However, this wouldn’t be the first time Jonathan went out of his way to cheer for Biles along with the gymnast’s fans.

The NFL star is always in Simone Biles’ corner

During the Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships earlier this year, Owens took a last-minute flight to Fort Worth despite the city experiencing turbulent weather conditions at the time. The NFL celebrity’s decision to brave the thunderstorm proved to be a worthy one, especially as he got to watch Biles bag her record-setting month national title at the Dickies Arena.

On the other hand, Biles also loves to show up at her husband’s big matches and must be loving how Owens’ career is looking after leaving behind the Green Bay Packers. When Owens scored the first TD for the Bears this season, Biles was quick to take to social media to express her jubilation and fans couldn’t help but gush at their vehement support for each other’s professional commitments.

To make things extra special, Biles always loves to add something unique to her looks whenever she goes to see her beau in action. From dressing up in a jacket that’s a montage of Owens’ face to wearing her special JO necklace at matches, Biles never fails to raise the bar for couples’ goals.
