Four medals in Paris! Simone Biles‘s Olympic run this year was a success, but it wasn’t without a moment of fear that gripped her fans. During the warm-up session before the qualification rounds, a minor snag in her calf troubled her, leading her to tape her right leg. Subsequently, she was even spotted wearing a walking boot during the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony. While she had called it a ‘precautionary step’ as they still had a tour after, it now seems to be a lingering issue.

But nothing can stop the gymnast from being there for her husband. Yes! Biles’ string of Instagram stories showed that she touched down in Chicago. One of the snapshots even overlooked Soldier Field, where Chicago Bears player Jonathan Owens will be playing against the Cincinnati Bengals.

She was seen with her friend Alexandria and wearing her walking boot as she made an effort to be present for Owens. She even wore a custom great jacket featuring Owens’s pictures from his time with the Green Bay Packers. This reminds us of how he supported Biles in Paris! Jonathan Owens had showed up in the Bercy Arena stands wearing a white ‘BILES’ t-shirt. But the 5’11” player will need all the support this time.

He played one season for the Green Bay Packers in 2023 but signed a two-year deal with their rivals- Chicago Bears. As he enters his first season with the new team, it will be interesting to see how he has adjusted to the new environment. But one question still stands: What about Simone Biles’s injury?

Speaking to NBC after the Olympics, Simone Biles had assured that her “Calf is good.” However, there was “just a little bit of soreness.”

She even commented on how “elite athletes are pretty tough” because they persevere through pain and are ready for whatever. Interestingly, when Owens first commented on Biles’ Paris performance, he cited how she pulled through despite her foot injury on the very first day. What did he say?

The NFL player is his wife’s biggest fan. Post her Paris Olympics stint, he had mentioned, “When she did decide to come back, she accomplished everything that she set her mind to. And just being able to witness every day, the training you go through, you know, obviously the first day when she had the injury a little bit to her calf, and just her ability to persevere through that and go out there and still dominate. It’s just amazing to watch.”

He had even added that his wife was a warrior. Despite slipping during her warm-up, Biles went on to win a Team gold, an all-around gold, a floor silver, and a vault gold.

In fact, right after her injury, she had crawled her way back and hopped on one leg. Later, she exited the floor with the team doctor, Dr. Marcia Faustin. Given this, Owens had even acknowledged her pain tolerance and how she continued to make her routine look graceful despite the injury.

Owens had equated that with the game of football: how players limp around after an injury. But they forget about it and go all in when the game starts.
