Simone Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens have been victims of several trolls and controversies since her comeback in the past year. Including the ‘catch’ comment, a series of Owens’ statements sparked backlash. Fans tried to repress him for putting in less effort than his wife. Fresh off a vacation with his lady love in Hawaii, the 28-year-old is back at answering questions hinting at his potential as a husband.

Ahead of a fresh NFL season, Owens became the main highlight of disputes for his comment “A lot of people don’t believe me when I say I had no clue”. Trying to turn a deaf ear to certain speculations, the NFL icon finally decided to ‘clear the air’ around it.

Going candid on the podcast named JONATHAN OWENS ON HIS CLIMB TO THE NFL AND CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC ABOUT HIS WIFE SIMONE OWENS on Steve Nelson’s YouTube channel, Owens shared the details. Said, “They ask me do I know my girl in there like how did you meet her. They tried bringing my tweets from 2012 like oh you was tweeting about gymnastics and I’m like but I’m like bro yeah I was watching this with my mom like this was my first time watching gymnastics. I watched it with my mom and I tweeted about it and I’m a junior high school”.

Now, for more context, another X post had a screenshot of Owens’ comments he left below Gabby Douglas’ 2012 performance. Douglas was the all-around champion at the 2012 London Olympics, and the spectacle she put up, didn’t go unnoticed by the high-schooler. However innocent this explanation Of Simone Biles’ husband looks, this has the chance of stirring up the internet shortly again. The ‘catch’ comment that once blew up the internet needs a revisit.

In the Pivot podcast, the athletic couple made a joint appearance. But the stress started building when Jonathan Owens commented, “I always say that the men are the catch.”  Reiterating this, he said, “It’s really how she pulled me, man. That’s the question.”

In a Texas Monthly issue that was released in June 2021, he said, “When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn’t have NBC, we didn’t have Olympics channels”. Though Biles’ fans didn’t buy this, they will hopefully hold themselves back for a sometime. The Paris 2024 will be one of the greatest opportunities for the Olympian to cement her status again.
