On Valentine’s Day in 2022, Owens asked the most important question with the sweetest gazebo proposal and a stunning oval-cut diamond ring by Zo Frost, which immediately drew everyone’s attention. The next day they shared mutual Instagram pictures to announce their engagement.

“I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more!…” Biles captioned her photo, which showed Jonathan Owens down on one knee as he smiled widely leaving Simone gasping for air. Blue Nile’s Chief Merchandising Officer, Katie Zimmerman, estimated the bling would cost $300,000 according to Brides.com.

Zimmerman also mentioned that the gymnast’s ring was well-thought-out and on-trend. Regarding the specifications, Frost stated that it is a 3-carat stone with F color and VVS2 clarity and that Owens added a design feature. “He wanted to add a special touch to the ring by adding a halo around the oval diamond,” the jeweler added.

“@zofrost you went crazy on this one bro really made the night special,” Owens accompanied with his engagement upload on Instagram. Frost, headquartered in Houston, has worked with industry royalties like rapper Drake to elite athletes, making it an ideal choice to create Biles’ ring.

The Olympic gold medalist and the NFL player kept it low-key with a courthouse marriage in Houston. The sweet couple followed up their courthouse ceremony with a grandiose destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. After the wedding, the couple also learned to manage long-distance, were both part of highly competitive scenes, were wonderful parents to their pets, and, most importantly, fought the digital world not long ago.

Taking a bold stand for love

Last December, Jonathan Owens found himself in a self-activated controversy when he went on The Pivot podcast and indicated that he was “the catch” in their relationship and claimed to have no idea who his Olympic gold champion wife was before they started dating(after which the internet served him with receipts).

In the joint podcast appearance with Biles, he stated, “It’s really how she pulled me, man. That’s the question,” as the show aired, Biles learned that her followers felt very differently, with many advising her to file for divorce. His words fell deeper into the rapidly controversy tornado, with many viewers labeling his remarks as insulting and egoistic. Throughout, Biles stayed by her husband and seemed entirely unbothered, but only recently opened up about the genuine impact the story had on her until now.

In her recent appearance on, the Call Her Daddy podcast, according to Biles, the viral snippets from the chat were taken out of context. She also added, “One night, I broke down and I’m like, why are you guys talking about my husband like this?” Sadly, it took a while for the chaos to die down. As they celebrate their big day today, one can only hope that people follow Simone Biles’s stance on mental health and recognize how much love the sweet couple share.
