December 2023. The Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs clashed, and everyone had their eyes on Jonathan Owens and Travis Kelce. After all, Owens’ relationship with Simone Biles and Kelce’s romance with Taylor Swift has been quite public, and so people were excited to see the power couples collide. In fact, Owens even escaped punishment for an apparent push on Kelce on the final play where the Chiefs lost. Swift and Biles were in the stands, watching.
Fans were just as involved in this clash of the power couples. Some even held up signs that they were in attendance to see Biles and not Swift. Well, since then a section of NFL fans have been pitting Biles and Swift against each other. And it seems the Olympic gymnast just added more fuel to the fire!
During the Simone Biles Rising: Season 2 premiere, the gymnast was asked a couple of questions by an Access Hollywood reporter and one of them was about Swift.

Reporter: “In your floor routine (Olympics), you did the Taylor Swift thing, which was really cool. What is it like bonding, cause now, you are considered one of the WAGs—the wives and the girlfriends… Have you been able to bond with Taylor Swift at all?”
Simone Biles: “No, I’m currently on tour. So unfortunately not. I’ve missed a lot of games. But as soon as we finish tour, then yes. But you usually don’t bond with opponents.”
Well, for NFL fans who are waiting to see Biles and Swift’s faceoff in the stands, let us tell you Owens’ new team, the Chicago Bears, and Kelce’s Chiefs are not scheduled to face each other in the regular season.
Biles laughed after giving a cheeky response. This might also come as a surprise to a lot of fans, considering the amount of admiration the gymnast and the singer have given each other. Biles even performed the floor routine at the Olympic team trials to Taylor Swift’s song, ‘Ready for it.’
It became so popular that the singer herself reacted to it with a lot of praise for the gymnast. Swift reacted to the video of the gymnast completing her triple-double, along with her numerous flips and twists during the routine, with the song playing in the background. The NBC Olympics and Paralympics posted this video. Taylor Swift replied to this in June by saying, “Watched this so many times and still unready.” She then went on to add, “She’s ready for it tho.”

In July, Biles replied to her praise very gracefully in an interview with TODAY. “I do love her. She is so sweet.”
But when it comes to football, neither of them seem to play around. Both of them are fiercely competitive on behalf of their respective partners and would like to see nothing but for them to win.
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce has been more successful in this department, winning three Super Bowls in his career, while Jonathan Owens is yet to win one. This might make Simone Biles’ competitive streak even more fierce as she’s so used to winning. Nevertheless, it seems that the NFL fans have taken their sides in a prospective battle. Most of them seem to choose the gymnast as the one who they would like to see more during games.
NFL fans want to see Simone Biles more than Taylor Swift on their TV screens
There’s no denying it—Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are the couple everyone’s buzzing about. Ever since they made things official in 2023, they have been the headline in every tabloid, talk show, and timeline. So, whenever Taylor shows up to one of Travis’s NFL games, she’s front and center, often getting significant screen time.

In fact, on CBS’s four-hour Super Bowl 58 broadcast, she raked up a 54-second air time after she was shown 12 times. That is less than 1% of the four-hour game. But because her appearances at NFL games frequently garner a lot of attention, there is a section of fans who are tired of it. And then, there is another section that is demanding that Biles be given a bit more importance at NFL games.
They feel the gymnast with seven Olympic medals doesn’t get the same kind of attention as Swift.

The debate hit a new level when fans noticed that Biles barely got any screen time at a game she attended on September 8—the Chicago Bears vs. Tennessee Titans matchup. When they saw that she wasn’t getting nearly the same attention, fans took to social media to speak up.
Well, the debate can go on and on. Now, while Taylor Swift and Simone Biles may not be NFL game-day besties, their mutual respect for each other is admirable, isn’t it? Let us know in the comments below.
