The greatest athlete on the mats, Simone Biles, was an unknown entity to her NFL safety husband Jonathan Owens over three years back. The athletic power couple attended a December 2019 Texans home game unaware of their fate, and it was only later that Owens was in one of Biles’ pictures. A few months later, they swiped each other on a dating app called Raya, and Biles first slid into his DMs.

Now, three years later, well settled in their professional career, the duo appeared on a podcast revealing some old secrets. Throwing light on how they bumped into each other and what happened next, Owens confessed to not knowing Biles at first.

In a recently posted ‘The Pivot Podcast‘ on YouTube called Green Bay Packers’ starter Owens as a guest and posted the video captioned—”Jonathan Owens Undrafted to Starter, NFL Playoff Push, Wife Simone Biles & Mental Health.” When one of the hosts asked, “How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?,” Owens took charge saying, “I’mma tell you organic story man.”

Jonathan confessed to having lived about seven months in Houston, single at the time when his friend suggested the app. Early on, he got many likes and unaware, he said, “this got to be fake like I don’t know just I didn’t know who she was at the time but like the first thing that I saw,” on being liked by Biles on the app.

Owens was on a mission to clarify and leave no room for doubts, he explained, “I’m like okay she got to be good if I promise you I’m I’m a real life story when she won the Olympics I was in college and we didn’t have NBC we didn’t have Olympics Chanel and we’re in Camp.” “So I never would have had a moment to where I would have watched,” he finally rested his case. Fast forwards to now, their relationship timeline has travelled far ahead than they imagined.

Meeting at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Biles and Owens were able to spend more time together than they usually would due. The beloved couple made their relationship public and celebrated Christmas together in December 2020. Owens supported Biles after she stepped down from individual all-around finals at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo due to the Twisties incident.

Following Valentine’s Day on February 15, 2022, the couple announced their engagement on Instagram with heartfelt photos of Owens getting down on one knee. Fast forward to 2023, on April 22, they first got married in a formal Texas courtroom wedding before having an opulent wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
