Ah, Paris—the city of love! It’s got a way of sprinkling its magic dust on lovebirds, and Simone Biles is no exception! As she and the Team USA gymnastics squad settled into the Paris Olympics village, her husband, Jonathan Owens, was getting down to business with the NFL‘s Chicago Bears at their HQ in Illinois as their newest safety.

Just a day after turning 29 on June 23, Jonathan Owens took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse into his training session, leaving Simone swooning. Owens shared a four-post carousel on Instagram from Halas Hall. Although the Bears had a non-contact training camp practice closed to the public for the third consecutive day, Jonathan made sure to keep his followers in the loop. He arrived in style, sporting a blue t-shirt, dark grey shorts, and a Louis Vuitton shoulder crossbody bag.

Then he switched it up, donning his official NFL gear and rocking the number 36 jersey for the Bears, stealing the show on the field. Ownes captioned the post, “Chapter 29 ✨,” and it struck a chord with his biggest cheerleader and wife, Simone Biles. She couldn’t resist commenting, “you get sexier every year 🥵”

The Bears also confirmed on their official website that safety Jonathan Owens will be excused from training camp from July 29 to August 3 so he can travel to Paris and cheer on his legendary wife at the Paris Olympics. Coach Matt Eberflus said the Bears are making this exception, “because we respect the Olympics. That is a big deal. He’s just supporting the one he loves the most, and I think that’s so cool that he gets to do that. We welcome that and it’s going to be awesome. Go USA!”

As we reflect on the exciting reunion between Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens set to happen in a few days, it’s clear that these lovebirds have managed to keep the spark alive despite the distance. This gush-fest from the gymnastics queen comes just a day after she sent her man a sweet tribute for his 29th birthday. As we reflect on these heartfelt tributes to her husband, it’s clear that Simone and Jonathan’s love has only grown stronger with each Olympic cycle. Let’s delve into their story and see how their relationship has truly blossomed!

From Tokyo to Paris, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens’ love story also comes full circle

As we take a stroll down memory lane, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens’ love story has evolved from a pandemic-era fling to a full-blown romance. It all started in March 2020, when they exchanged messages on a dating app while the world was locked down and Biles was preparing for the Tokyo Olympics, which got postponed. By August 2020, they were Instagram official, with Biles captioning their debut selfie, “It’s just us.”

Fast forward to June 2021, and Owens was front and center at the U.S. Gymnastics Championship, cheering Biles on as she snagged her seventh title. “What an amazing experience,” he posted, clearly smitten and fully onboard the Biles fan club. He quickly became her biggest supporter, even showing up in her documentary, Simone Biles Rising, giving her a sweet kiss goodbye before Tokyo. In February 2022, Owens popped the question, and Biles’ response was a heartfelt “THE EASIEST YES.”
