Simone Biles has become a common sight at her husband Jonathan Owens’s NFL games. So, when it came time for the Chicago Bears’ safety to show up for his wife’s most important event of the year so far, he didn’t disappoint. As the 7x Olympic medalist mesmerized those in attendance, you could spot Jonathan Owens exactly cheering on his better half to victory. Simone Biles spoke with the press moments after becoming the oldest U.S. Olympic female gymnast since 1952.
During the Q&A session, a journalist asked if fans would once again witness the NFL star cheering on the Olympic gold medalist in Paris. Although the 28-year-old is supposed to be in training camp, Biles revealed the Bears have arranged something special. “The bears are actually granting him a couple of days off from training camps and he’ll be there,” said the former World Champion. The gymnastics icon has been there for some of her husband’s career-defining moments. Thankfully, Owens will be able to return the favor.

Simone Biles also revealed she found it “super exciting” that she and her husband have the opportunity to cheer one another on. “Supporting each other’s dreams and goals,” and witnessing one another excel at a high level is a gift not every couple gets to share. The most decorated gymnast said that these moments will turn into memories that will live forever.
“So anytime we can show up for one another and support,” said Simone Biles. The 2016 Olympics All-around champion is also thankful her husband could attend the U.S. Olympic trials because she and the Chicago Bears star’s schedules don’t often align. Owens witnessed the former World Champion cruise to the top of the finals leaderboard with 117.225 points. While Biles expressed her elation at the post-contest interview, Owens took to social media.

Simone Biles made Jonathan Owens feel proud
The 28-year-old football star expressed his joy on Instagram after Simone Biles secured her ticket to Paris. The NFL safety posted a snapshot of the scoreboard which displayed Simone Biles’s name on top. “We going to Paris ♥️♥️. Man, I’m so proud,” wrote the 28-year-old athlete. While Biles faced a few slip-ups on day 1, she was in the driver’s seat during the finals. At 27, she just seems to be unstoppable and teeing off.
It’s not just the fact that the dynamic duo is Paris bound, but Jonathan Owens has always held his green flag of a wife in high regard, multiple times, despite naysayers calling him out for his “catch” comment. He went the extra mile and was a little more fitting and romantic with his reply. “No words can describe how proud of you i am baby 🤎 – penned Owens. “Just knowing all the work that you put in and everything that you’ve been through, and to still come back and be as dominant as ever, i was speechless” was his apt response to their dream come true. He has and will always be in awe of his wife, who seems to have success and victory in the palm of her hand at this point.

Simone Biles bested her longtime teammate and friend Sunisa Lee by 5.5 points. However, the gap between Sunisa Lee’s 111.675 and Jordan Chiles’s 111.425 was much narrower. Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera also joined Biles, Lee, and Chiles as Team USA’s representatives for Paris 2024. Simone Biles left no doubt that she is heading to Paris in blistering form.
