It has been more than 3 years since Aly Raisman retired from gymnastics. However, it’s never too late to revisit some of those old memories as one of her close friends drops by for a visit. As Jonathan Owens gets busy with his new team Green Bay Packers, Simone Biles recently met up with Raisman and the two had a fun time together. Raisman, who was also present at Biles and Owens’s wedding, cherished every moment spent with her then and now. It seemed like nothing changed between them in the last 7 years since their domination in Rio Olympics in 2016.

Jonathan Owens has currently been living in Wyoming, owing to his new team. His absence gave Simone Biles a reason and an opportunity to visit her friend Aly Raisman. Going by their pictures, the two seemed very happy with the reunion.

Aly Raisman recently took to her Instagram and wrote, “Look who came to visit!! @simonebiles” followed by two heart emojis. She also shared a few pictures of the two of them together in her living room. One picture, where Biles sat on Raisman, suggested that their childishness and fun-loving nature with each other were out before it was long.

Both of them were ecstatic in meeting each other, and the wide smile on their faces said it all. The two also met at Biles’s wedding where they exchanged pleasantries and smiles there too. However, it was more about the bride and her special day with Jonathan Owens then. The recent pictures of the two of them enjoying each other’s company are reminiscent of their jubilant time in Rio.

Along with Shannon Miller, Simone Biles is the most decorated female American Olympic gymnast of all time, with 7 medals each. Aly Raisman follows them in a close 2nd spot with 6 medals. And the chunk of this glory came at the Rio Olympics 2016. Raisman and Biles were both part of the Final Five in the US women’s team in artistic gymnastics. With Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian forming the other 3 members, the Final Five won the gold medal in the team all-around competitions in Rio.

How the 2016 Rio Olympics brought the two closer than ever

Aly Raisman was already a gold medal winner from the 2012 London Olympics, where she won 2 medals in the Team and Floor Exercise disciplines respectively. However, it was her team-up and bond with Biles at the 2016 Rio Olympics, that brought great laurels to the American gymnastics team and gave fans worldwide an indelible memory.

Although the two have had their moments of rivalry during competitions, the hug that Raisman gave Biles after winning the gold medal makes everything else smaller in comparison. As if that wasn’t great enough, they, along with the remaining members of the Final Five also met with the then-President of the United States Barack Obama, who was in his last tenure. Such sweet moments of victory shared together from within the stadium to enjoying its perks later on, formed a bond between Biles and Raisman that stays to date and possibly forever.
