On Sunday, September 29, the Chicago Bears came off a crushing loss to take on the Los Angeles Rams. Jonathan Owens’ team needed a win after a decisive 21-16 loss against the Colts. However, Owens’ comment on his wife, Simone Biles‘ Instagram, reveals that the Olympian’s presence helped boost his confidence. In fact, if you believe Owen’s words, it might have even helped his team pick up the victory.
“My good luck charm,” the 29-year-old commented on Biles’ post. The fact that the Olympic gold medalist made time to support her husband despite the ongoing Gold Over America tour meant a lot to the Chicago Bears’ safety. Meanwhile, Biles, who is preparing to perform at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on October 4, was delighted to become his lucky charm once again.
Biles’ presence gave the Bears their first win of the season. However, this was a regular occurrence when Owens played for the Green Bay Packers. On November 19, 2023, Simone Biles was present in the stadium when the Packers defeated the Chargers with a 23-20 score. Later Owens took to Instagram stories to share a picture with his wife and the same caption.

“My good luck charm,” Jonathan Owens wrote. Of the several games the Olympian attended, the Packers often came out on top. However, this time the Olympic medalist could visit Soldier Filed because she was in town for the Chicago leg of Gold Over America. While Biles had her performance at the United Center, she couldn’t miss the opportunity to support Owens. “Struck gold with this one,” wrote the seven-time Olympic medalist as she uploaded a bunch of images from their day in Chicago.
The very first clip showed the 27-year-old sharing a kiss with her husband moments ahead of the game. Thankfully, this time, the most decorated gymnast in history didn’t make the mistake of donning the colors of Owen’s previous team, the Green Bay Packers. Biles wasn’t kidding when she said, “Yes, I have plenty [of Bears gear] now…”

This is also the first time Simone Biles met Owens since she got ‘J’ inked on her ring finger. Shortly after her show in Arizona, the Olympian sat down with fine-line tattoo specialist Sydney Smith. Smith inked the 27-year-old twice. The first one was the quote ‘made in heaven‘ behind her neck, and the other was a ‘J’ micro-tattoo.

Biles couldn’t wait and called up Owens at midnight to give him the surprise. However, Jonathan Owens, who got ‘S’ inked on his ring finger ahead of the Olympics, finally saw Bile’s ink up close. Yet, cheering for her husband on the football field was only the beginning of their day in Chicago.
Jonathan Owens was there for Simone Biles
The seven-time Olympic gold medalist shared an Instagram story that revealed what Owens did after beating the Rams. “When you support him in the afternoon… And he supports you that night at your gymnastics tour,” read the on-screen text. The Sportish video used the clip of Biles and Owens sharing a kiss and footage of Owens watching his wife perform at the United Center.

The footage showed the NFL safety cheering the Olympic gold medalist from the stands. In August, Owens took a leave from practice to see Biles perform in Paris. “The bears are actually granting him a couple of days off from training camps, and he’ll be there,” Simone Biles told the press at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Now, the footballer once again proved his dying support for Simone Biles on Sunday.
However, the best part is that the support is mutual. Despite her hectic schedule, Biles forfeited her afternoon rehearsals just to cheer for her husband. Similarly, despite a tiring game, the NFL star didn’t miss the opportunity to watch Biles perform. After all, celebrating “victory Mondays” quite often became a thing for the couple whenever Biles cheered the NFL safety during his time with the Packers. Now after her first appearance at Soldier Field, it seems like the Monday celebrations are set to make a comeback.
