Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to gymnastics. They both have often displayed some unthinkable routines in their beloved arena and framed a multitude of accolades on their wall of fame. Interestingly, they both made a comeback after a long hiatus and marked their return at US Classics this year. However, though Biles stood atop the podium by performing her magic on the beam, Lee’s way to victory was hindered by her kidney ailment.

In the wake of her kidney related health issue, Lee once asserted, “I?m not even really supposed to be doing gymnastics right now.”?However, defying all the odds and standing firm on her dedication, Lee did the unthinkable and shone brightly first in the US Core Hydration Classic and now she once again made many heads turn her way in the Xfinity Gymnastics championship.

Going by their talents, Biles and Lee have clinched medals in the Senior WAG Balance Beam. While the Queen of Gymnastics has bagged the gold with a tally of 29.300 (14.450, 14.850). Lee took home the bronze with an overall score of 27.850 (13.650, 14.200). Silver went to 18-year-old Skye Blakely with the final core of 28.250 (14.050, 14.200). This indeed is a remarkable feat for Suni Lee, as she performed her routine on the beam all while dealing with her kidney health issue.

With this performance, Lee and Biles have sent a statement that they are back and are ready to rule the gymnastics world once again.

This incredible display of athleticism from them has also ignited new hope for the US. Their fans around the world are all geared up to witness Biles and Lee perform their routines in the French capital in 2024. That is if all goes well for Lee’s fitness trajectory for the event.

Lee’s uphill battle to clinch next milestone

Prior to her performance in the US Classics, Lee appeared in an interview with the Olympics. In her conversation, she revealed that she was really excited and was working on new skills and combos for the upcoming events. However, her health condition led her to cut short her sophomore season at Auburn University and affected her training. She also said that her illness has a lot of side effects she didn’t anticipate prior.

She was having a hard time finding her best shape and rhythm due to her recent ailment. She detailed,? “I could wake up very swollen some days and not be able to put my fingers inside my grips. It?s really difficult to kind of work through, but on the days that I can do stuff and I am feeling good, I try and take advantage of that and just get everything done.? But she left behind the setbacks and made a triumphant return to the US Classics, where she clinched a silver medal in the balance beam. Now she is gearing to make the Paris event with lofty objectives there as well.

Lee wants the Paris Olympics to be something she does for herself as she reflects on the tremendous journey she’s undertaken. According to her there’s a lot left in the tank and she’s made her intentions crystal clear. ?I really do want that bars gold,??said the Tokyo 2o2o bronze winner. With longevity looking like its something the US Gymnastics team possesses in spades, who’s to say that won’t be a reality.
