Simone Biles is back! Can she reclaim her throne as the greatest gymnast of all time?

Simone Biles, a name that tugs at our hearts, continues to enchant us with every facet of her life. Did you know she’s a foodie, too? Fans will have even more to look forward to as the release date for the second part of her Netflix docuseries has been announced. October 25th is when episodes three and four of Simone Biles: Rising will premiere, promising to be as engaging as the first. At the same time, Biles can help Netflix as it is sinking right now.

In her recent post on X, Biles shared a sneak peek of the new episode, showing her in a casual tank top and black loose pants, giving a glimpse into her everyday life in the premiere of this docuseries. Well, Biles’ incredible achievements, like winning four Olympic medals, are impressive and showcase her top-tier talent. Yet, the docuseries shows the Biles’ raw side.

The video opens with Biles reflecting on her move to Paris. In one scene, she talks about how life has become chaotic, dramatic, and complicated, “ever since I moved to Paris” as she sips champagne with the Eifel Tower behind her. In another shot, she’s standing in front of a wall of hats, shoes, and Chanel-themed art, saying, “Without basic bitches like me, you wouldn’t be fashionable.”

She talks about eating crepes and munching other pastries. All of this, of course, ignoring the fact that she was preparing some of the most jaw-dropping athletic routines of the olympics, earning three gold medals and a silver in the time she was there.

Biles also shares her love for food, revealing, “I’m not somebody who can share a crepe. I need the whole crepe. Oh my god.” Her candidness about her passion for food adds a delightful layer to her already fascinating personality. But at the same time, this docuseries can be very helpful to Netflix as it is sinking right now.

Is Simone Biles the spark plug that keeps Netflix’s engine running?

Being one of the most famous and successful gymnasts, Simone Biles could help Netflix grow. Back in April, Netflix dropped by 5% after the market closed, triggered by the company’s decision to stop disclosing subscriber numbers and instead focus on viewer engagement metrics. Netflix’s financial performance for the January to March period was strong, with earnings per share of $5.28, surpassing expectations, and revenue rising by 14.8% to nearly $9.4 billion.

However, after April Netflix’s stock further dropped 7.3% to $565.85, its biggest decline since July 2023. The company announced it will stop reporting subscriber numbers, a key metric for evaluating performance in the streaming industry. This change could lead other companies to follow suit, making it harder to gauge the health of the streaming market. Netflix is also facing challenges in maintaining growth after cracking down on password sharing, which had previously increased its subscriber numbers.

According to Netflix’s latest ratings, “Simone Biles Rising” continues to hold strong, ranking eighth on the English TV List with 1.8 million views in its fifth week. Despite the surge of new content, including chart-toppers like “The Union” and “Emily in Paris,” Biles’ documentary has maintained its position, reflecting the enduring admiration for the Olympic champion. However, what more can you expect in docuseries?

Aside from savoring the delightful boulangeries and bubbly that Paris has to offer, the second part of Simone Biles: Rising is set to deliver a captivating conclusion. The new episodes will cover her journey from the trials to qualify for the Paris Olympics, her arrival in the City of Lights, and the competition itself. This thrilling finale follows the initial episodes, which documented her struggles after a disappointing vault led her to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics and her journey to regain confidence. Documentarian Katie Walsh, who directed the first part, continues to helm the series.

Simone Biles’ historic achievements have even inspired a tribute from Beyoncé. “Only a select few know what it feels like to get to the top and stay there and somehow keep getting better,” Beyoncé remarked. “Simone Biles inspires me, and I’m pretty sure she inspires you, too. Such confidence in her strength, such beauty in her power, such a great lesson in her story. Brilliance doesn’t come easy. Gold can be a hell of a journey, and the greatest of all time is willing to put that title on the line every time she walks out there. Take your best shot, world. She’s ready for you.”
