Stanford’s Chloe Widner achieved dual triumphs, for herself and her team, at the NCAA regional finals on Sunday. Her perfect 10 in the floor routine is her first career 10.000 at the event. Alongside, her performance landed the Cardinals at the NCAA championships for the first time 2016 while also making them the first unseeded team to make nationals since its new format was launched in 2019. With such a display praises were natural to come when a social media post showcased her game-changing moves.
Notably, the fifth-year student pulled her team up when Stanford needed 9.875 to tie. With her floor routine the Cardinals clinched the spot with a 197.575 score. This adds one more to the series of Widner’s recent dazzling displays. A few days back, she scored a perfect 10 on the balance beam, a milestone not achieved by a Cardinals gymnast since 2004. Her staunch performances brought her bunch of accolades lately.

This year Chloe Widner joins an illustrious group as the third Stanford gymnast to earn the honor of Pac-10/12 Specialist of the Year 2024, following in the footsteps of Amanda Spinner in 2013 and Elizabeth Price in 2015. Notably, she also becomes the first Cardinal gymnast to earn a conference award since Price’s remarkable achievement as Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year in 2018.

As of March 25, Chloe Widner stands among the elite in the Pac-12 Conference, ranking in the top 10 on bars, beam, and floor. She’s one of just six gymnasts in the conference to achieve this feat in 2024. Understandably, enthusiasts could not hold back on their thoughts as they saw a glimpse of her perfect floor routine.

The Cardinal gymnastics team now heads to Fort Worth, Texas for the national championship meet. On April 18, they are set to compete in a semifinal session against Arkansas, LSU, and California. It remains to be seen if Widner rises to the occasion once again to bring more glory to her team.
