The top universities, including LSU, UCLA, Oklahoma, and Michigan, achieved higher ranks due to their stellar performances in the World Championship and regular season meets. However, the ranking was determined by assessing the best six regular-season meet scores of each all-around competitor. Oklahoma is coming off a strong 2023 season, where they finished first overall.

Oklahoma dominates NCAA gymnastics scene

The success has placed Oklahoma in a strong position heading into the 2024 season, with high expectations for the team. Their two highest scores, 198.675 and 198.650, were against West Virginia and Michigan, respectively. At the 2024 Quad competition, the squad achieved another record-breaking score, as revealed by Road to Nationals. The nation’s top gymnastics team defeated Texas Women’s, Pennsylvania, and Clemson on Sunday in Denton, Texas, with a hat-trick of 198+ points. However, it was one routine where their performance truly shined. The duo showcased their total supremacy on the balance beam. Each of its gymnasts received scores of nine or above on the beam, but one stood out as they once again smashed records.

Whereas, the UCLA Bruins are just behind them. The Bruins have a successful history and a squad full of outstanding players, so they are well-positioned to challenge for the championship. The University of Florida Gators, who are coached by Jenny Rowland, are a team not to be taken lightly. The Gators are keen to show off their abilities and contend for the top place at Nationals since they have a track record of success and a reputation for performing well under duress.
