In the recent video, Utah Gymnasts Paulson’s father Brandon Paulson, who is a former Olympic silver medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling, looked stunned in the red jacket after watching his daughter’s spectacular performance at the Huntsman Center. Her mother Shelly Paulson burst into tears of overwhelming joy after seeing her daughter’s perfect 10 in a tri-meet against Utah State and Stanford.
In Utah’s Senior Night on March 15, Paulson dazzled with her perfect 10.0 on the beam. Before receiving a 10 in the final meet against Stanford, Abby Paulson previously inspired her fans, receiving a 10 on beam in her first-ever competition versus UCLA at Pauley Pavilion as a freshman. After that, the versatile beamer repeatedly flirted with the edge of greatness, but she ultimately delivered one more to round off her time performing in front of the Huntsman audience.
Abby Paulson’s legacy of excellence
After Paulson’s remarkable performance, Utah Red Rocks coach Carly Dockendorf stated that Paulson’s score in that meet has been a long time coming. “I am so happy that she got that 10 tonight because I feel like she’s deserved it actually numerous times this year… Her beam routine is beautiful,” Dockendorf added.

Talking about the team’s phenomenal score, Paulson remarked, “We’re going to get the scores that we want.” After the meeting, Paulson also stated that she experienced a “really emotional week.” Thus, rather than thinking of it as it was her final routine at the Huntsman, she wanted to concentrate on her routine and the music while she was up there.
“So I’m just really grateful for everything, and the amazing fans, and my amazing teammates,” Paulson remarked. Because she incorporates Taylor Swift’s music into both her beam and floor routines, Paulson is often regarded as the ultimate Swiftie among Red Rocks supporters and her teammates. Paulson changed her beam music to “Never Grow Up” by Taylor Swift instead of Timeless (Taylor’s rendition), which has been her beam song for the whole year, on Senior Night.

“I felt like it was just very fitting to finish out my career in the Huntsman to the same song,” Paulson said. Thus, ending her stellar collegiate career, Paulson gave it a befitting ending.
