Defining the sports atmosphere that LSU provides, LSU Senior Kiya Johnson, who achieved a season-high score of 9.95 in February 2024, expressed her appreciation for her time at the university. Alyona Shchennikova, another LSU team member, who lately suffered from an Achilles injury, expressed, “Doing all the workup pre-season had been challenging and hard, but doing it with the girls was super awarding.” Even though she didn’t get to compete this year, her claim continued, “My favorite part was coming into practice every day. Cheering and supporting them all is greater than I can ever imagine.”

On the other side, Cammy Hall, Jillian Hoffman and Savannah Schoenherr, also commented on similar lines. And lastly, a consistent performer on the vault and bars, Kai Rivers from the LSU Gymnastics reconciled her incompetance for this year’s gymnastics. “Gymnastics probably wasn’t the best idea for my body. But I’m really grateful that my staff and Jay (Clark, LSU coach), they decided to keep me on and give me a role that was productive and made me feel like I am aiding the team. Getting here was really hard, so I’m grateful that I got to compete”, she quoted.
Considering the further commitments lined up this year, which are fun, energetic, challenging, and rewarding all at the same time, the gymnasts definitely owe their time and journeys to LSU Gymnastics.
