The official page of LSU Sports on YouTube showcased the LSU Gymnastics’ head coach’s interview on the 26th of February 2024. On being asked about the scoring technicalities of the sport, Jay Clark replied that he has been proposing a scoring scheme for a long time in conventions, but having given no account and establishment of his thesis, he has now succumbed to withdraw from this follow-up.
Named as the 9th best recruiter in college athletics by ESPN The Magazine (2011), Jay Clark like always, schemed to ‘go straight average’. The argument against going a straight average does not sustain well throughout an event and the average of a team eventually comes down with only a few specifications being aimed at and achieved. The head coach also told the media, “Maybe they had a flu bug run through their team and they had to forfeit a meat, or they had things come along and then what? Do they count a zero in their average?”

Thus, concluding his strong-headed thoughts on the NCAA Gymnastics scoring dynamics, Jay Clark said that there is a possibility of caveats being put into place and that should be the main goal as it’s the only way to get past through a straight average. Therefore, comparing the straight average with the NQS formula, this is the right path to stick to and make the calculations for a successful straight average.
