LSU Tigers have been entertaining its fans with their incredible performances each time they come up on the gymnastics mat this season. Understandably, their potential can be estimated with their last matchup against NO. 9 Alabama, wherein they triumphed over the opponent with the third-highest score of 198.325-197.325. But as Tigers coach Jay Clark had said on an earlier occasion, they are not yet ‘done.’

Led by standout performances from senior gymnasts, Haleigh Bryant marked the team’s overall excellence across all rotations, Their moral was further boosted by the fans who ensured back-to-back sellouts at the PMAC. Coming up with all this, LSU’s gymnastics team will soon be embarking on their next Quad meet and they shared their excitement about the same. 

LSU set to start the upcoming quad meet on a high note

While gearing up for their upcoming head-to-head scheduled to take place today at Raising Cane’s River Centre for the quad meets against No. 14 Auburn, Texas Woman’s, and George Washington, LSU Gymnastics took it to their official Instagram account and uploaded a story. They penned, “Friday, March 8 Podium Challenge vs. George Washington, Auburn, and Texas.”

Although LSU features an astonishing record of defeating tough opponents, the upcoming match is not as easy as it seems to be. Currently, LSU holds a dominant 86-18-0 record after their recent encounter with Auburn. “Going downtown is a great opportunity for us. It’s going to be a great four-way competition on the podium with Auburn, George Washington, and Texas Woman coming in, and it gives a different perspective for both our athletes and our fans,” was LSU’s statement before the meet.

Meanwhile, Auburn is ranked in 14th position and boasts a series of strong performances in bars, vault, floor, and beam, including national rankings of 19th, 17th, 16th, and 9th, respectively. However, Auburn is not the only opponent for LSU. In the upcoming event, LSU will also be competing against George Washington and Texas Woman’s. 

Against George Washington, LSU holds an undefeated record of 10-0-0 While against Texas Woman’s, they hold a perfect record of 16-0-0. The last time TWU faced LSU in 2020, they had to face a defeat. But now the question is whether LSU will overcome intense pressure.

Is LSU prepared for the enthralling showdowns?

Tigers will be entering the gymnastics mat with their eighth-ranked victory after ten weeks of competition. In addition to this, the team is coming up with a 197.885 National Qualifying Score and a national No. 3 rank, introducing them to the top five. However, this is not the only preparation LSU has done for the head-to-head competition.

LSU has composed its roster of 22 gymnasts, including 11 experienced seniors, four juniors, three sophomores, and four freshmen. The major attraction at the matchup will be Cammy Hall, coming up with an injury last year. Fifth-year seniors Kiya Johnson, Alyona Shchennikova and Kai Rivers returned for their final year of competition with the Tigers. apart from that, LSU is all loaded with seniors like Haleigh Bryant, Sierra Ballard, Chase Brock, Elena Arenas, and Olivia Dunne and juniors like Aleah Finnegan, Alexis Jeffrey, Tori Tatum, and KJ Johnson.
