The No. 5 Florida team has proven its dominance in the gymnastics domain, claiming its sixth consecutive SEC regular-season title in NCAA Gymnastics. With a score of 198.225, the Gators secured a close win, claiming the victory over the No. 6 Kentucky at 198.100 in Rupp Arena. Multiple Gators delivered standout performances at the game.

The Gators are now enthusiastically celebrating the SEC title, after bringing their energy and A-game at the showdown. Anya Pilgrim, Gabby Disidore, and Victoria Nguyen among other Gators proved their exceptional capabilities on the various apparatuses.

Florida Gators lift 6 consecutive NCAA Gymnastics

The Instagram handle @ukgymnastics took to share the final score of Florida vs Kentucky, highlighting the close victory of the Gators with a marginal difference. Freshman Gabby Disidore set the tone early into the game, as she earned a score of 9.900. Anya Pilgrim, a freshman gymnast continued with the momentum to make history. She went on to earn her first collegiate perfect score of 10 on the floor routine.

Victoria Nguyen was also one of the star performers of the night, earning the season-best score of 9.850. Leanne Wong, the well-known gymnast, who has several accolades to her name, once again proved her spectacular capabilities, finishing in the top slot with a 9.975. All the Florida Gators earned scores above 9.5, which resulted in an impressive overall score of 49.425 for the first rotation.

On the vault, Skylar Draser earned a collegiate-best 9.950. Sloane Blakely and Danie Ferris followed closely as they matched Draser’s score. Despite some setbacks, the Florida team kept themselves ahead of Kentucky throughout the competition, as they finished with a .125 advantage over Kentucky.

Focus on consistency to break records

The Gators have managed to achieve a new season-high score, consistently improving their score each week across the season. They are the only team to have achieved such distinction, unmatched by any other program in the nation. Jenny Rowland, the head coach of Gators mentioned in the interview, “This is the eighth consecutive meet to improve our score. That is hands down a feat within itself.”

Looking ahead, now the Gators are more confident to maintain their winning streak. They are now preparing themselves for the upcoming quad meets against Nebraska, Eastern Michigan, and Lindenwood. It is scheduled to take place in Lincoln, Nebraska, on March 9 at 7 p.m.
