The 2024 NCAA Gymnastics has been one to reminisce about for LSU enthusiasts with the trajectory it has offered. Taking off right from the first meet, the Tigers have reigned consistent dominance to linger around the top spots. Though downfalls weren’t a complete void for the roster, they surely managed to rise back up to triumph, showcasing determination; a scenario well presented against the Alabama Tides.

During their last meet, the LSU Tigers fell against the mighty Florida Gators for 197.950-198.150. While that wasn’t the result the team was hoping for, Coach Clark was nonetheless optimistic about the performance and athletes’ stance heading into the next meet. Staying true to that, the Tigers recorded a triumph over the Tides.

Another successful day on NCAA Gymnastics mats for the Tigers

Entering its final conference of the NCAA Gymnastics season, Tigers sat 2nd on vault, 5th on bars, 4th on beams, and 1st on the floor; ready for a battle. When the time arrived, some stood by the ranking and some raced for better to ultimately put up 198.325-197.325. “It’s always a great day for a Tigers win ‼️” the Tigers wrote celebrating their 8th win for the season. In the process, the Tigers once again showed why they are the best on the floor.

49.775 was the total the Tigers put up on the floor thanks to six scores of over 9.90. In the lot, the routine proved rather special for star gymnast, Haleigh Bryant, who scored her 14th NCAA Gymnastics perfect 10. “I never get tired of watching her,” Clark said. “It’s remarkable. She’s amazing.” Furthermore, the roster recorded a couple more 9.9s and over across the apparatus from Alexis Jeffrey, Aleah Finnegan, Kiya Johnson, Amari Drayton, and Konnor McClain.

The team triumphed against Alabama in all but the beam where the Tiger went 49.450 to the Tides’ 49.500. Nonetheless, the Tigers showcased they were more than ready to take the challenges that came en route to the NCAA Gymnastics championships.

Calculative moves ahead for the Tigers

LSU Tigers’ meet against the Alabama Tide marked the nearing end of the regular season and the race toward the top 4 for NCAA Gymnastics championships. Thus, heading into the Podium Challenge next week and the PMAC beyond, Coach Clark’s sole focus is on improving the NQS. After their recent meet, the roster went 197.885, recording the SEC-best NQS average. Though No.3 California’s next meet threatens the number and position, the HC is fine as long as they stay in the top 4.

In their next meet on Friday, the Tigers will take on Auburn, George Washington, and Texas Woman’s University. Expect for Auburn, all other totals will contribute to the Tigers’ NQS. Aware and alert, the Tigers tread a careful path ahead in hopes of unprecedented NCAA Gymnastics victory.
