Though Simone Biles’s much-awaited wedding finally took place on 22nd April, it was an anticlimax for several fans. The reason for this was that despite being a millionaire, the gymnast didn’t splurge heavily on either her white wedding gown or her shoes.

While she had purchased the gown for $120, her shoes cost $35. In an earlier Instagram Story, Biles disclosed that she had purchased the shoes from Amazon and the dress from Selfie Leslie. The gymnastics legend also shared how she had to exchange her shoes to pose for wedding pictures as the shoes purchased from Amazon were not comfortable.

A newsfeed named Page 6 disclosed said details reacting to which fans strongly supported her decision to underspend on her outfit and shoes. But why did fans defend her so strongly?

Traveling to Belize for a bachelorette trip with friends, Simone Biles gave her fans a glimpse of the Alia Belize hotel and the room where she stayed. Calling it the “most epic bachelorette”, Biles apparently spent a massive amount of money on this trip.

After this, the star gymnast also had a bridal shower on 1st April 2023 in Juliana HTX, Texas where she invited her close friends and relatives. Here too, the gymnast allegedly spent a huge amount for the decorations, catering, music, and booking Juliana HTX for the bridal shower. Referring to her huge spending, Biles also made a shocking comment earlier.

The gymnast stated on her Twitter handle, “I just checked my credit card statement. I need a sugar daddy LMAO.” While these statements indicated how Biles had spent a hefty amount of money, this built expectations in fans that Biles had splurged big time on her wedding outfit as well.

Not only this but earlier, the gymnastics champion had also shared a picture at the boutique Galia Lahav in Los Angeles and told fans “said yes to the dress” for the wedding. She also updated fans that she traveled to L.A. for the final fitting of her dress. This amped up fans’ excitement for the wedding dress, leaving many surprised later at how less she had spent on her outfit. To support Biles against any possible backlash for spending less on her wedding outfit, many fans came to her defense and reacted strongly on Twitter.

Subsequently, a fan responded, “They look expensive too, great job!” Later, another fan wrote, “Money doesn’t give you style. Simone rocked that gorgeous outfit.” Afterward, a fan penned, “that’s what us black people call a business decision” Another fan reacted, “Smart Girl!” Clearly, fans stand with Simone Biles’s decision to spend less on her outfit for her courthouse wedding.
