Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes definitely feel like couple goals! In August 2023, her MLB beau confirmed their relationship, and since then, the two haven’t looked back. They both understand how to deal with their fame. However, they’ve found a way to make time for each other even with their busy schedules. Teamwork really does make the dream work. But it makes us wonder: did the two have a classic meet-cute situation? 

Well, we might have the answer! Flau’jae, the host of the podcast ‘Best of Both Worlds’, asked the gymnast if they had a dreamy LSU love story. “I would kind of see him around, and I was like, ‘Who is this tall guy, like, tall, mysterious man?‘,” Livvy recalled the first time she came across Skenes. Gushing over the memory, Livvy giggled. “I literally had no clue who he was, but I would just see him around.” Unfortunately, she didn’t see him again until baseball season began. 

The gymnast continued, “And then, during baseball season, he wasn’t even playing that game. He was in the dugout.” Olivia Dunne was in the stands with her teammates when she saw Skenes again. “Because that’s what we normally do whenever we’re not competing. We’ll all go to a baseball game and just like chill.” Spending all their time in the gym had them yearning for some much-needed time to sit out and enjoy nature. 

How did Livvy feel seeing her future beau? “So I saw him in the dugout, and I was like, ‘There he is; he’s cute. I like that side profile.'” But there was one stark difference. “He didn’t have that moustache yet,” the gymnast pointed out. We couldn’t even imagine what he would look like without one. “He wasn’t even like the Paul Skenes that we all know and love yet, like he was moustache-less,” she added. 

So, what happened after? Olivia Dunne followed Skenes on Instagram. “We hung out, and we got ice cream and stuff, and it was chill.” They went from simple dates and dropping clues on social media to loving and cheering each other on at their respective events. Skenes had talked about how he wished Livvy could attend his games without being mobbed by fans. But the two always find ways to make up for their time apart.

They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, and that’s exactly how the duo feels. Busy schedules have become the norm for the athletes. But Livvy reveals how Skenes has found a way around it. One of the many firsts she experienced with her beau was flying on private jets. “This past summer was the first time I ever flew on a PJ. I got to take one with Paul from Pittsburgh to the all-star game that he was playing in.” However, it’s slowly becoming the norm. 

Olivia Dunne confessed, “I think now, Paul, he kind of charters me like my own little private plane.” Skenes has found the ideal solution to help his LSU gymnast girlfriend manage her travel schedule better. I’m busy, and I don’t really have time to drive. So Paul will sometimes provide an easier way of getting from point A to point B,” she stated.

The gymnast states how she’s grateful to him. But being in school is tough, so they try to match their schedules whenever it’s possible. The 21-year-old revealed how Skenes found ways to keep the romance alive. “So he was like, ‘Alright, well, I really want to see you.'” Her MLB beau has found a way to ensure that when it comes to travel, Livvy has nothing to worry about. 

If this wasn’t obvious, Paul Skenes is just as smitten by his lady love as she is by him. He has talked about how Olivia Dunne helped him manage his professional life, personal life, and success. “She knows how to deal with it, and I know how to deal with it now.” From the looks of it, they’ve both helped each other grow and find their footing.
