Jordan Chiles isn’t letting anyone off the hook in her quest for justice. It’s been over a month since the UCLA student-athlete got into a messy affair with the CAS, but she’s not up for letting things slide. Chiles’ Olympic bronze medal still might have a chance to return to the USA, and fans are showing up in flocks to extend their full support to Simone Biles’ BFF.
Just last week, it was revealed that Chiles has decided to lead the court case against the CAS herself. Now, as she takes another step toward retaining her Olympic hardware, the country’s gymnastics community believes the uphill climb cannot be stopped just yet.
On September 24, Scott Bregman took to X to notify fellow gymnastics enthusiasts about Chiles’ second appeal to the Swiss Federal Tribunal. In the post, Bregman shared a screenshot of the official update shared by USA Gymnastics in support of Chiles at the Swiss court. In its appeal, the USAG petitioned the SFT to reopen Chiles’ case by forcing the CAS to consider the audiovisual evidence submitted on August 11. The national gymnastics apex body reiterates the fact that Jordan’s inquiry was raised within 1 minute, as required by the FIG.

Bregman’s post also attaches a screenshot of the official statement given by the USAG in its appeal. “The audiovisual evidence which CAS refused to consider clearly proves Jordan’s bronze-medal finish in Paris was correct. With today’s filing, we are simply asking that the CAS arbitration be decided based on a true and accurate understanding of facts,” the USA Gymnastics noted.

Before long, fans arrived with their fervent support for the gymnast, claiming she still has a long way to go. One such fan urged the two-time Olympian to keep pushing as they wrote on X, “Let’s Keep Going, Jordan!” And the sentiment wasn’t far and wide either, as more of Chiles‘ supporters soon followed suit.

Another fan thinks the CAS would do good to take into account the undeniable evidence that was produced at the court last month. While Chiles did secure gold in the team event at the Paris Games, the fact that her individual medal was stripped due to a confusing factor isn’t sitting well with fans. Taking that into consideration, this gymnastic connoisseur believes Jorda would greatly benefit from the arbitration decision going her way, as they commented, “she needs to WIN!!!”

On the other hand, people also can’t seem to forget that the original CAS decision was passed by a person who has a long association with the Romanian government. Justifiably, some fans want the world to know that the USA doesn’t cheat its way to medals and proper facts need to be checked before laying the entire issue to bed. “DONT YOU DARE GIVE UP FIGHTING FOR #jordanchiles HISTORICAL RIGHT TO HER MEDAL! USA TEAM IS NOT A CHEAT!” fumed Sharon on social media.

Many iconic sports figures including retired tennis star Patrick McEnroe and gymnastics legend Nadia Comaneci opined that the bronze medal be given to all the gymnasts who got entangled in the mess as a way to make up for the mental ordeal they had to go through. However, Tyler is adamant: Chiles needs to get back what she rightfully won on the grand stage. “Jordan Chiles better get that Bronze Medal Back!!” the fan doesn’t seem to have two thoughts on the matter.
“Give Jordan that medal!!!!!! She is that girl!” Sam also put forth a similar request claiming that the course of the case should irk every gymnastics follower in the country. Do you agree? Tell us how you’d like to see the fiasco handled with a comment below.
