It’s a golden opportunity for the 22-year-old Jordan Chiles to make a mark, ushering in joy to mom Gina Chiles’ life.

Named after the basketball legend Michael Jordan, the Olympian recognized a penchant for her beloved sport at 6. While playing softball, she abruptly shifted to cartwheels. But her parents never ceased supporting their child, who’s nearing her second Olympics. Especially her mother, who has since celebrated every milestone achievement of Chick’, but could never keep her emotions under wraps. Chiles recently unfurled if it’s her matriarch or her patriarch whose eyes well up with emotion whenever they see her perform.

Going candid with People Magazine, the 2023 Pan American Championships all-around bronze medalist opened up on being “a little more settled” than the Tokyo Games. Currently having shredded off everything that could pose her a threat, Chiles leads a happy life with her parents. And they have left no stone unturned to push limits for their child. “This sport is tough on the athletes, but the parents go through every emotion too — especially my mom who cannot watch me without almost passing out”, said Chiles.

Speaking more about her mom, the 2020 Tokyo team silver medalist said, “My mom has been my biggest supporter from the beginning, and she has helped me become the person I am today”. Though she emphasized her relationship with her mom, Jordan Chiles didn’t skip extending heartfelt notes for another rock in her life.

“The person I need in the toughest moments because he has a way of comforting me when I feel overwhelmed. There is nothing like the arms of my dad to make me feel like everything will somehow be okay”, said Chiles. From the socially circulated photos, the tranquility of Timothy Chiles’ nature shines through. So, when the 2022 World vault silver medalist said, “They are still on this journey with me and still making sacrifices, “ we could connect to every syllable.

Though material things don’t matter to her much, she did gift a house to her parents this year. This small step marks her journey of being a model daughter and a dutiful one too.
