Even Jordan Chiles’ mom is a huge fan of the gymnast—if not for her incredible talent, then definitely for her compassionate nature. And she’s not shy about sharing that love with the world! Only yesterday, Gina Chiles thanked the gymnastics community for standing fast behind her daughter during her Olympic fiasco. However, now, she’s back on social media once again to note how she can’t handle scenes of Jordan mingling with community members as well.

Gina Chiles wrote on X on October 1 about how she was overwhelmed by her Olympian daughter’s gesture when Jordan met with Law & Order: SVU-famed Mariska Hargitay’s daughter in August. “This moment was unreal! Mariska was crying while watching her daughter smile when @ChilesJordan put her Gold Medal around her daughter’s neck,” Gina wrote in her social media update.
The TV icon and the gymnast, along with the latter’s teammate Suni Lee, met during the 2024 Paris Olympics, and it was a moment to remember for both parties. Hargitay was just as overwhelmed by their paths crossing, and took to Instagram to claim, “Best. Moment. Ever. Just love these ladies.” But things got even more exciting for her when Chiles placed her team gold medal around Amaya’s neck, and the TV star’s teenage daughter and Gina also felt blessed to be a part of the moment.
Noting how Chiles can often display incredible humility and groundedness, Gina claimed it was a moment that again reaffirmed her admiration of the UCLA gymnast. “I Fan girled hard!” she gushed. But the Olympian thinks she felt a genuine connection with Amaya, especially because of the celebrity status that both of them enjoy in the country.

“…for you to walk around, and everybody’s going to ask questions like, ‘Is this really your mom?’ You know, I’ve been there once before,” she continued. “And so I felt like in that moment, it was really cool just to give her that opportunity to feel seen,” an article from October 1 TODAY quoted Chiles saying. However, this wasn’t the first time that Law & Order crew members got a taste of what it’s like to rub shoulders with an Olympian.

Jordan Chiles is the latest Olympian to enthrall Law & Order
For the first time in Olympic history, breakdancing was made part of the coveted tournament. With that, stars of the breaking community were suddenly catapulted to the middle of global attention. Among them, Sunny Choi of the USA enjoyed a special frenzy from fans in the months leading up to the Olympics. To reciprocate the sentiment, Law & Order got Choi to guest star at one of its shows, and it was indeed incredible.
The breaker made a special bond with celebrity rapper and part of the Law & Order crew, Ice T. The moment was made all the more incredible by the fact that it was also the 25th-anniversary celebration of the show, and social media was run over by passionate admirers of both worlds.
