It looks like Jordan Chiles takes notes from Simone Biles in more than one way! After her triumphant Olympic run earlier this year, the UCLA Bruins star has now another feather added to her cap, and she seems to have taken a page out of the gymnastics GOAT’s books, literally! Following the Paris Games, Chiles was in the middle of a ruckus involving Romania’s Ana Barbosu. But the 23-year-old has managed to bounce back from the turmoil in the most epic way possible.
Over the years, Chiles has learned a lot from Simone. Competing together at the highest level of the sport, the duo has become the friendship to watch out for gymnastics followers worldwide. But now, it’s come to light that Biles has taught her colleague more things than just executing mesmerizing gymnastics routines at competitions.
Jordan’s mom Gina took to Instagram on November 26 to share her Olympian daughter’s latest achievement with a gushing post. Showing off Chiles’ newest accolade, the gymnast’s mom could barely contain her excitement. From the social media update, it can be seen that Jordan has made the phrase “I’m That Girl” her own. Chiles’ new book by the same name is out, with a foreword written by none other than her national teammate and gymnastics BFF Simone Biles.

Naturally, watching the WCC gymnast grow has made her mom emotional and she penned a heartfelt message. “So proud of you Jordan!!” reads the caption of Gina’s post. Noting how it has been a steep uphill journey, she wrote further, “This was not an easy journey but YOU DID IT CHICK!” And now, as Jordan’s dreams manifest, her doting mother cannot help but watch on with a beaming smile.

However, writing the foreword for the new book isn’t the only way Biles has come forward with a helping hand for Jordan Chiles. Instead, she has held her bestie’s hands in every step of the way. And now, as Chiles’ book notes how she’s living in the power of her dreams, fans can speculate the pride Gina shares with her daughter’s GOATed buddy.
Jordan Chiles has always found an anchor in Simone Biles
At one point in her life, Chiles seriously contemplated leaving gymnastics altogether. Being dropped from the national team in 2017 despite her impressive performance, the then-young athlete was left heartbroken and wanted out of the sport. But Biles, fresh from her 2016 Rio Olympic success, convinced her to relocate to Texas to train together at the WCC. The move proved to be a boon for Chiles, and Gina could hardly stop thanking Simone for what she did for her daughter. “It was exactly the right move. There’s not a person that’s gonna argue that Simone is the greatest of all time and having that to shoot for it, it just made Jordan better. And, and I like to say that Jordan sharpened Simone because, you know, Jordan is competitive, so she’ll push…It was a healthy environment,“ she confessed during a podcast interview in October.

When the CAS and the IOC directed Chiles to hand over her Olympic medal due to an issue with her inquiry, Biles was again seen prominently in the former’s corner demanding that the unfair judgment be reversed. Voicing the same opinion as the Chiles family and other fans, Simone took to social media to slam the Olympic Committee over its lack of logic on the entire matter.
But it looks like it wasn’t only Biles’ incredible gymnastics skills that her colleague was taking notes of during their time together in the locker rooms. Are you also excited to read Jordan’s book? Tell us in a comment below!
