It’s difficult when your better half is standing on the verge of immortality and you’re stuck at home thousands of miles away. While the Chicago Bears have done a favor to Owens, giving him permission to be absent from practice, to stay beside Simone, Owens is not there yet. So, he misses watching Simone in person on the opening day of her performance on Sunday. Therefore, he had to resort to a television screen to catch that action.
In his latest series of Instagram stories, Jonathan shared how he’s also tuned in with the rest of the world to watch the country’s most decorated female gymnast of all time do her thing on the grand stage. In a story captioned “We locked in” Jonathan can be observed cozy in his bed and cheering for Team USA’s women’s gymnastics contingent.
In another story, the former Green Bay Packers star expressed his elation as Simone can be seen dismounting from her balance beam routine (she earned an emphatic 14.733 score). But what stopped Owens despite the Bears giving him the green signal?

Well, technically, the calendar. As a special gesture to allow Owens to join Biles in Paris, the Chicago Bears have agreed to their star taking an absence from training from July 28 to August 3. The decision comes as a sort of compensation for Owens being unable to cheer for his wife from the stands at last year’s US Classic. However, this might have been on the table ever since Jonathan left Green Bay for the Chicago squad. While NFL players are subjected to a $50,000 per day fine for missing training, Jonathan’s agents had already given his new team a heads-up about this when the new contract was being fine-tuned.

“First-class organization. I just want to thank them so much even allowing me to go over and do that. I can’t wait to be able to support her, and I know my family and my wife, she really appreciates it,” said Jonathan just a few days ago, as he noted how his teammates and the Bears were “really cool” and “supportive” of him flying to Paris to support Simone. With this, Biles is set to expect the entire contingent by her side from tomorrow.
Simone Biles’ cheerleaders are all converging on the bank of the Seine
While Jonathan waits for July 28 to finally arrive on his side of the world, the rest of the Biles family is already at the French capital and doing their part to provide all the motivation the 27-year-old gymnast needs to show the world her true worth. Simone’s mother Nellie and others couldn’t be in the stands at the last Olympic Games due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing havoc across the globe back then. Now, they’re determined to make up for the lost opportunity, and Nellie, along with Simone’s sister Adria and niece Ronnie have all touched down in the City of Love. But still, having her beau join the rest of the cheerleaders will undoubtedly be a massive boost to the systems for the Olympian.

What’s your perspective on:
Can Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles overcome the distance and keep their relationship strong?
Have an interesting take?
Jonathan has previously grabbed every opportunity that came his way to show up beside his wife. Even bad weather isn’t something that can keep him away from his beloved, as the nation saw during the Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships. Despite the thunderstorms in Texas, the football star caught a last-minute flight to Fort Worth, Texas, and was later spotted taking notes from the stands. On the other hand, Simone too has been a regular customer in the stands at Owens’ important games, cheering for her hubby as loudly as her lungs would allow her.
Now, with all of her closest people behind her, will Simone finally have the chance to set the records straight after her tryst with the “twisties” from three years ago? What do you think?
