Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens got hitched back in April 2023. However, once they were done with their luxury destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, the duo faced a harsh reality of life—long distance. While Biles was busy crafting herself for the upcoming World Championships and the Paris Olympics, Owens had to return to his Green Bay Packers practice looking to make a mark in the NFL.
The duo definitely met occasionally, and never got to spend typical husband and wife quality time together. As Biles made a thumping return to reclaim her all-around throne at the World Championships, Owens landed a lucrative deal with the Chicago Bears. And with the Olympics right around the corner, there was very little time for the couple available to spend together.
And while the separation was due to some seriously legit reasoning, Jonathan Owens seemed to get frustrated at the scenario. Catching up with Fox 32 Chicago, the difficulty of the situation was brought to the forefront. The conversation kick-started majorly around Owens’ first start as a safety against the Minnesota Vikings on November 24. Though the Bears lost 27-30, the safety was able to make an impact by forcing a goal-line fumble during the Vikings’ first drive of the game, as Minnesota moved the ball down to Chicago’s one-yard line. Running back Aaron Jones had the ball stripped away by Owens, who also recovered it.

In a heart-touching moment, Owens celebrated the fumble by posing in a gymnast style after they stick landings, in an ode to his wife who was also in attendance, making her a major talking point among fans…
Noting the same, the host asked, “I know Chicago loves having you here. They also love having your wife Simone here and being able to see her at some games. It’s really cool that she now gets to support you in your season. What’s it been like having her here and you know exploring Chicago together?”
To this the 29-year-old revealed in a wholesome confession, “It’s amazing. I love playing in front of my wife because she’s going to hold me to the highest standard. So it keeps me on my toes always. And just, you know, we’ve traveled so much and I mean, even when last year she was still training and I was up in Green Bay, we weren’t able to be together as much. So this is really like our first time just getting being able to just be married and I come home and it’s food cooking and it smells good. I’ve been here by myself with the dog so having some help there. She’s like, ‘Oh babe, I can take him to the vet now’, and I’m just like, ‘Man, this is amazing!'”
And thanks to the city Chicago is, the couple never has a dearth of places for going on dates either. “It’s just been great just to be able to be married and, obviously we’re in Chicago. So it’s a good city, bunch of good food. We’re big foodies. So we’re always making a new list of new places to go and figuring out new restaurants. It’s been amazing,” the former Green Bay Packers player noted. And not just that, Biles’ presence has also helped her husband be his best self!
“Everyone else is going to drink the Kool-Aid and tell you how good you are. But it’s always about having someone who can bring you down to earth a little bit…She might tell me, ‘Babe I think you can make that…’ She doesn’t know too much about football, but she knows enough to like…if she see me slipping on something and, you know, you respect it.”
“Just being with an elite athlete, it’s just like me being with her, it just motivates me every day. Like she’s the greatest in her sport ever. So, I’m like, some of that has to rub off on me. I just love having her there and like it just gives me more energy more like more effort. I’m like, ‘I want to impress impress my wife’.” And just like the doting wife she is, Biles doesn’t leave a chance to support her husband whenever she can.
For instance, during Thanksgiving this year, the gymnast made sure she spent the day with her loved one—she shelled out a cool $10,000 to make it possible by chartering a private plane to reach The Windy City. In a conversation with Us Weekly, the Olympic gold medalist had revealed, “I’ll fly up in the morning and fly right back, just so we can still spend Thanksgiving together…” so her husband can come back home from the Thanksgiving clash against the Detriot Lions to warmth and love…
The couple even opened their doors to other Bears who are away from home. “We’ll just have a chef come and cook…I think some of his teammates will come through and grab a plate, especially if they don’t have family in the area. It is a little bit more difficult, but it is kind of nice that we can just relax,” Biles concluded.
Having said that, the couple’s marital bliss will soon be doubled as…
Simone Biles hints at moving into her $3 million dream house
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens revealed their plans to work on their dream house in September 2023. Costing a whopping $3 million, the lakefront property in Texas has been under construction all these years. While Biles had shared updates about the house in the making, there was no definitive news about when the house would be ready for the couple to move in. That is until recently when the US gymnastics queen finally had some good news.

As per an update provided by the Paris all-around champion, their dream house is getting its final touches added. Interacting with US Weekly, Biles stated, “Right now, they’re doing all of the backyard stuff. Jonathan wanted a half-basketball court, a barbeque pit, all of the good stuff. We did put an in-ground trampoline and a pool.” However, the duo still has to wait a tad bit longer, this time due to Owens’ NFL commitments. Reflecting on the same, Biles added, “At this point, we’ve waited so long for it to be built; we’ll just wait until after the [NFL] season to move in.”
