Olivia Dunne's stunt: Genuine talent or clever editing? What's your take on this viral moment?

Ever since the inception of the NIL program in colleges, barely any other athlete has benefited more from it than LSU’s Olivia Dunne. Using her incredible social media following through Instagram and TikTok, she has gotten much better sponsorship deals than average ones, making her the second-highest-paid NIL athlete earning $4 million. Thus, the brand deals have helped a lot to further her career.

Now, Olivia Dunne has bagged another sponsorship with deodorant brand W, owned by controversial YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul. On October 23rd, the gymnast uploaded two stories of her promoting the brand. One of these involved quite a crazy stunt, which seems to be possible to undertake only by elite-level gymnasts.

The first story showed Olivia with Jake Paul as he welcomed her to his brand’s sponsorship team. He referred to her by her nickname Livvy, saying, “Livvy Dunne, welcome to the W team,” then proceeded to promote W by informing potential customers where it is available. But it is the other story that caught people’s attention.

Fans were floored by her talent; some even expressed disbelief, suggesting the footage might have been edited. Others praised the clever marketing strategy of teaming up with Livvy, calling it innovative and fresh.

Olivia endorsing W is a huge coup for the growing company. Alongside being a gymnast for the LSU, she is also quite a big social media influencer. Her 8M followers on TikTok and 5.3M on Instagram are a testament to this. Through her own following, she could take the brand to whole another level as Livvy would increase its visibility. Thus, her social media game, which has immensely helped her career, could help the brand too. Most of the companies are aware of this, which is why she gets so many sponsorship deals, skyrocketing her NIL payouts.

A user said, “W marketing 👏” With the popularity of influencers growing day by day, many of them are opening brands of their own to increase their finances. However, a lot of these projects fail because of their lousy marketing. This is why many are praising Jake Paul for his innovative marketing, bringing Olivia Dunne’s gymnastics into the fray to make his product look cooler. Clearly, it seems to be working.

On the other hand, some couldn’t believe that the LSU gymnast actually did this stunt. “Am I the only one who saw the bottle fall twice?” said one user. While Olivia was kicking the bottle up again after the somersault, it did feel once or twice that it was about to fall. However, she did control it well, eventually finishing it successfully. Thus, there was no scope of the bottle falling.

However, some viewers remained skeptical, pointing out moments where the bottle looked like it might fall during her routine. Yet Olivia’s control and precision shone through, leading to the successful execution of the stunt. “🔥Wtf do it again?” was a common sentiment in the comments, underscoring the success of this marketing campaign. With every sponsorship deal, Olivia Dunne’s NIL earnings continue to climb, proving that her social media savvy is just as impressive as her athletic talent.
