Yet, beneath his remarkable presence in the world of gymnastics, the sport is like an impressive tale that defies expectations. While most of the spectators perceive Richard as a highly trained gymnast, there is more to Richard than meets the eye.
What does Fred’s humble beginnings look like?

In a recent candid interview session, Fred Richard sat with Sam Oldham’s team in a podcast titled “The Fred Richard Story.” A short glimpse of the interview was then uploaded by the team on their official YouTube channel with the caption, “I hope you enjoyed this week’s episode of The Sam Oldham Podcast and hearing Fred Richard’s story!“
In the same interview session, Fred revealed, “If you come to my gym, you would say it’s funny. it’s a joke. I mean, this wasn’t meant to be an international level gym like a gymnastics facility or even national high-level gymnastics facility“. When Fred first joined the Gym, it was strictly based on the distance from Fred’s home to the Gym. Fred’s first coach not only identified the true potential of Fred but also took him to other gyms to get him to an extra level.

Fred Richard: from struggle to success
With a lot of struggling on the gymnastics mat, Fred Richard finally accomplished what he had been aiming for a long time. As hard work was quite evident with his performance on the mat, Fred was finally selected to represent his nation at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge alongside Yul Moldauer, who is the 2024 Winter Cup silver medalist.
Interestingly, Fred, Yul Moldauer, Asher Hong, Shane Wiskus, and Brody Malone secured first place as a team. Pumped up his recent win, Fred decided to initiate his journey at the Xfinity National Championship. Consequently, Fred passed with flying colors and finished in third place behind Asher Hong and Khoi Young.

However, this was just the beginning of something incredible as he was selected to compete at the upcoming World Championships with Hong, Young, Paul Juda, Colt Walker, and Yul Moldauer. Consequently, Richard not only took up the opportunity but also sparked with an individual All-Around bronze.
